  • Pokemon TCG Pocket recently released its third major expansion with Triumphant Light, with ranked battles said to be on the way soon.

Pokemon TCG Pocket players are asking the developers to give them more slots for building new decks, feeling that the current total is far too small with the expanding cardpool. While many fans likely started the mobile TCG for its wealth of collectible digital cards and free packs, the game boasts a robust battling system as well. The game features several differences from its physical counterpart, with players able to use Supporters when going first and an overhauled Energy system. Now, fans are asking for a major upgrade for the game’s deck-building.

Since the game’s launch in late October, Pokemon TCG Pocket has steadily expanded its available selection of cards with new releases. The developer has debuted a wide variety of exclusive promo cards through different events and released its first new expansion set last month with “Space-Time Smackdown.” TCG Pocket would also celebrate Pokemon Day with the release of its third set, with “Triumphant Light” featuring Arceus as the cover Pokemon. However, fans are now sharing their concerns about the limited deck-building opportunities within the game.

One fan even suggested that The Pokemon Company may be waiting to introduce additional deck slots as a premium purchase within Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Fans Asking for More Deck Slots

Many fans also pointed out the limitation on deck slots as a major hindrance with one particular update coming to the game soon. Pokemon TCG Pocket is heavily expected to be introducing a “Ranked” mode to the game sometime during March, introducing a more competitive battle environment to the mobile TCG. Many fans cited the introduction of Ranked as a point for needing more decks, with players needing competitive meta decks alongside their other “jank” decks.

Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s release saw overwhelming success for the card game that has only continued in the months following its debut. Coinciding with the recent Pokemon Day broadcast, The Pokemon Company revealed that Pokemon TCG Pocket had passed 100 million downloads since its October 31 release. The mobile TCG was also a sales phenomenon early on for the Pokemon franchise, earning over $120 million in sales within just weeks of its launch. Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s upcoming Ranked mode and new expansions will only serve to increase the necessity for more in-game deck slots.
