  • Elbaf is susceptible to fire and lightning, hinting at a major disaster.
  • Straw Hat Pirates split up, with Luffy and Zoro setting Loki free.
  • Loki’s release sets the stage for an epic battle as he wields Ragnir.

One Piece chapter 1141 dropped earlier today, and it is safe to say that this week’s chapter lived up to the hype. Although it is, quite clearly, a set-up chapter, fans were absolutely delighted to see that the incredibly fast pacing of the Elbaf arc hasn’t dropped a bit. The scenes have been moving from one location to the other within a matter of minutes, and the plot seems to be moving fast enough to allow for exciting events again at the end of every single chapter.

One Piece chapter 1141 was no different in that regard, and after last week’s majestic display from Scopper Gaban, fans now got to see Luffy and Zoro make their way to the Underworld of Elbaf, where they finally stood in front of Loki, and eventually went on to release him, making this one of the most exhilarating chapters in One Piece’s Elbaf arc, and at the same time, giving fans a lot to look forward to.

  • Elbaf Is Prone To Fire And Lightning
  • A Major Disaster Is Coming

One Piece chapter 1141 did an absolutely brilliant job at moving the story forward with great intensity. This chapter covered just about every point of view in Elbaf, aside from the one that follows Nico Robin, and the Holy Knights. Fans finally saw a bit of Franky, who was touring the Adam Wood with Ripley. Previously, they were seen observing the Harley, and it is safe to say that this Harley proved to be incredibly important. But, that’s certainly not all. In One Piece chapter 1141, they continued their adventures, and this time, they came across a giant branch of the tree in Elbaf that had been chopped off completely. According to Ripley, lightning struck the branch long ago, and it caused a massive fire.

You could say that fire and lightning are the two biggest weaknesses of Elbaf. — Ripley

Since the Adam Tree wood is old and dry, it was practically impossible to stop the fire from spreading, which meant that in order to save the rest of the tree, the entirety of the branch needed to be chopped off. Who did it and why remains unknown right now, but fans know for a fact that Oda is highlighting something very important with this. In simpler words, Oda is showing the fans that the massive country or Elbaf will face an existential crisis as the arc goes ahead and that this crisis will come in the form of fire and lightning. This isn’t the first time that Oda has teased this, as in the Block City, Oda foreshadowed the destruction and burning of the Adam Tree for the first time. In One Piece 1141, Oda clearly had Ripley highlight that while Elbaf is invincible, it is prone to damage from two things in particular, and that’s fire and lightning.

The Straw Hat Pirates Set Into Motion

The Straw Hat Pirates All Split Into Different Groups

One Piece chapter 1141 also focused on the Straw Hat Pirates, as was expected. This pirate crew was at the center of things in many ways. This time around, fans saw the group of Luffy, Nami, and Zoro finally split up. Nami went back with Road across a Svalr, and joined the rest back at the party. There, fans also got to see a bit of Usopp, who was rather brave in his drunken state. Usopp was clearly living the dream and the fact that Oda was focusing on him there means that Usopp is going to be relevant soon enough. Meanwhile, Gerd started taking care of the injured giants from the castle, and more than that, Road eventually gave up all the information he had to Gerd and the remaining members of the New Giant Warrior Pirates.

I’m afraid you’re too late. He’s already free. — Zoro

In the Underworld, Luffy and Zoro finally made it to Loki, and they were seen squabbling over whether to free Loki or not. Zoro was clearly trying to be wary of Loki, while Luffy absolutely didn’t care at all. Of course, both put forward great points, but at the end of the day, Luffy is the Captain, which means that Zoro does as Luffy says.

Loki’s devil fruit power is about to be revealed. Its secret could lie in nuclear power.

Fans also got to see some light being shed on the New Giant Warriors, who, after hearing the truth from Road, didn’t waste any time in jumping down and getting to Luffy and Zoro. Unfortunately for them, the attempt to convince Luffy to not crew him was entirely in vain, and this was largely because Zoro had already decided to free Loki by this point. It must be noted, however, that Loki still has a Seastone cuff on one of his legs, which means that even though he’s strong, he’s not going to be anywhere close to full power.

Loki Is Finally Freed in One Piece 1141

Loki Will Reveal His Immense Powers Soon

One thing that quite a lot of One Piece fans were looking forward to eagerly was Loki being freed, and One Piece chapter 1141 gave them all a present. Finally, Loki was freed from his shackles by Zoro, and this happened while Hajrudin and the remaining members of the New Giant Warrior Pirates clearly told Luffy to not free him since he’s not trustworthy enough. At this point, however, it was already too late. Loki was seen standing up immediately after and he grabbed his hammer, called Ragnir, immediately after.

This is precisely where the chapter concluded, which means that now, the set up for a battle against Loki has already been established. Loki is strong and fans expect him to go all-out soon enough. But, it must also be kept in mind that Loki is severely injured by Shamrock’s attack on him. More than that, Loki is also still in Seastone, which means that his level of power is most definitely not going to be that great.

That said, One Piece chapter 1141 would be absolutely sensational if Oda drops a segment of the chapter where Loki goes all out and shows the readers what his strength is like. It must also be remembered that while Loki is most definitely nerfed, his power level could simply be so great that even nerfed, he is just that strong.

One Piece 1141 also introduced fans to Ragnir, the One Piece version of Mjolnir, which is said to be a very powerful weapon. Loki wields it at the very end of One Piece 1142, and fans know that its powers are going to be special indeed. Luffy will most definitely clash with Loki in the next chapter, although that doesn’t necessarily mean that he will win.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1142, is set to be March 9, 2025.
