Putting the character creation suite in Monster Hunter Wilds to good use, one talented player has recreated the highly popular DC villain, Harley Quinn, in the game. Similar to many other RPG titles, Monster Hunter Wilds also lets its players create their own custom playable character.

After recently launching on February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds has already taken the gaming world by storm. The action RPG has garnered critical acclaim and also attracted a massive horde of players, with its peak concurrent players on Steam crossing 1.3 million within 24 hours of release. Among the game’s many alluring features is the ability to create a custom Hunter protagonist to take into boss battles and various other quests. Recently, one Monster Hunter enthusiast made the most of this particular feature and created a well-known character from the DC universe.

On Reddit, user Createdtotelltruth posted pictures of their Harley Quinn-inspired custom character in Monster Hunter Wilds. From the Batman antagonist’s memorable double ponytail hairstyle to her facial makeup, the creative Monster Hunter player translated Harley Quinn’s most recognizable traits into their Hunter. They revealed that their character’s design was close to the Suicide Squad rendition of the DC villain, presumably referring to the 2016 DCU flick based on the obvious similarities. They also said that it took three different makeup slots to get the makeup on the eyes, lips, and face right. Moreover, they shared a how-to video for those looking to replicate the same results in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, since the character was created in the game’s beta version, there may be some discrepancies when following those steps in the latest build, as was noted by certain comments under the post.

Thanks to her longevity and key appearances in Batman-related media, ranging from comics to live-action movies to video games, Harley Quinn has been established as one of the more notable adversaries of The Dark Knight. Cashing in on this popularity, Reddit user Createdtotelltruth’s post won significant praise on the platform for their custom Harley Quinn-like character in Monster Hunter Wilds. Several comments lauded the high accuracy of the portrayal, with one of them saying, “If I didn’t know anything about MH and someone told me they’d scanned Margo Robbie’s face to include the film version of Harley in this game, I’d believe them on the spot.”

Meanwhile, despite having strong player engagement right from the get-go, Monster Hunter Wilds‘s release on PC has been marred by optimization issues on PC. Owing to this, the Capcom-developed game also debuted to a “Mixed” rating on Steam, which still remains unchanged at the time of writing. However, the devs have acknowledged the reported issues in Monster Hunter Wilds and given certain recommendations for resolving the same since then. In the coming days, it may be fair to expect some of these hiccups to be dealt with comprehensively through patches and hotfixes.
