Marvel Rivals Portal Exploit Makes Your Ultimate Silent

Marvel Rivals Portal Exploit Makes Your Ultimate Silent

Summary

  • Marvel Rivals players realise that sound doesn’t travel through Doctor Strange’s portal.
  • This means that you can use your ultimate on the other side without alerting the enemy team.
  • This is a great strat for Scarlet Witch, since her ult is easily cancelled if enemies spot her using it.

Marvel Rivals can be chaotic at the best of times, with no role queue meaning that players are left to come up with their own compositions. One character who’s usually at the heart of all the wildest plays is Doctor Strange, as his unique portal ability can be used in a lot of frustratingly creative ways.

Now, fans may have found a new strategy that is bound to be the bane of your existence. Since sound does not travel through the portal, a crafty team has managed to find a way to effectively make your ultimate abilities silent. If you’re using a risky ultimate like Scarlet Witch’s – which can get cancelled if you’re killed – this can make it much easier to get a team wipe.

This Marvel Rivals Portal Strat Could Help Scarlet Witch Get Team Kills

Never risk getting your ultimate cancelled again

In the video above, you can see how this works from both the Scarlet Witch’s and the enemy team’s point of view. Here, all Scarlet had to do was start the ult out of the portal, and then make sure she’d gone through it by the time it activates. From the other point of view, there was no voice line to warn them that the ultimate is being used, which normally gives them time to get out of the way or try to kill Scarlet first.

A bunch of other heroes could benefit from this too, since it gives you the element of surprise. You will, of course, need to coordinate with your Strange to pull this off, since the portal is on a long ol’ cooldown, and they might have other plans for it.

Another strat that players have been doing with the portal is insta-killing Punishers when they’re in turret form. Since he’s locked in place, putting a portal underneath him and then the other one off the map will send him flying off the edge. Sure, you’ll have to wait a while until you can do that again, but it’s still a great way to send someone back to spawn.
