You have a lot of freedom in how you want to build Henry and the kind of person he is in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Just about all items you see throughout the game can be stolen, either through lock-picking chests, pickpocketing, or simply picking things up that are left out.

Should you steal something that’s not yours, it’ll have a stolen tag in the bottom right corner of the item’s icon in your inventory, and opening the journal for that item will tell you exactly where you stole it from. Here’s how to remove that stolen tag safely to sell or keep whatever you stole.

How To Remove The Stolen Tag On Items In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

There is no way to manually remove the stolen tag, instead, you’ll simply have to wait for enough in-game time to pass and eventually, the stolen tag will go away. The exact amount of time that needs to pass for the tag to go away will vary with every single item. While the exact time will always vary, it’s also decided by the overall value of the item, meaning less valuable items such as a spade will lose the stolen tag in just a few hours.

You don’t need to remove the stolen tag in order to sell an item, though having anything on you with the stolen tag can be risky. Should guards stop you and ask to search you, they will spot an item with a stolen tag, and you’ll get in trouble. While you can simply try to avoid guards, there’s always a chance they stop and ask to search you whenever you’re fast-traveling into a town.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Best Swords, Ranked

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is home to a vast collection of swords, but these particular bladed weapons are easily among the best.

The only factor in removing the stolen tag from an item is the passage of time, it doesn’t matter where the item is during that time. With that, you have a few places you can keep an item that doesn’t involve the risk of carrying it on your person:

  • Placing it on the ground somewhere private.
  • Leaving it in a chest that’s safe to store personal stuff in.
  • Storing it on your horse.

By far the best option is leaving stolen items on your horse, since it’s also a portable inventory you can call to check on the process of those stolen tags whenever you want. Once the stolen tag has been removed from an item, it’s just like any other found item and there’s nothing else you need to worry about.
