Redoing the character creation of a Hunter character and their trusty companion, the Palico, is a feature that is locked behind a paywall in Monster Hunter Wilds and requires an item called the Edit Voucher. A Character Edit Voucher changes a Hunter’s appearance, whereas a Palico Edit Voucher does the same for a Palico.
While players can change certain aspects of their appearance through a free in-game system, it is limited in nature and only lets them change some things. Luckily, Capcom has included two free Edit Vouchers for all players to claim. Here is the breakdown.

How to Use Edit Vouchers in MH Wilds
After you claim an Edit Voucher, it will automatically be added to your game. Here is how to use it:
- Open Monster Hunter Wilds.
- Click on Start Game.
- Select the save file with the Hunter/Palico you want to Edit.
- Press the Edit Voucher hotkey (visible at the bottom of the screen).
- Select ‘Edit Hunter’ or ‘Edit Palico.’

What’s the Difference Between Edit Vouchers and Change Appearance
Players can freely change certain aspects of their appearance using the in-game Change Appearance function available in the Tent in your base camp. This feature is completely free but allows for limited freedom. On the other hand, the Edit Voucher lets you completely redo character creation for both your Hunter and your Palico.
The main difference between the two features is that Edit Vouchers let you change the face, skin tone/type, and gender of your Hunter and Palico, whereas Change Appearance does not. If you only want to make superficial changes like switching up hairstyles, changing eye color, or adding warpaint, use the Change Appearance system.
