One of these similarities is the requirement of different keys for opening certain doors. The Dirty Brown Key is one of them, and you’ll need it while going through the Sand Sea Ruins domain of Shatterscarp.
Dirty Brown Key Location
If you’ve reached the Sand Sea Ruins domain of Avowed, you likely already know that the game has a ton of secret areas, especially in its cave systems. The Dirty Brown Key can be found in one such hidden area, but you’ll have to progress quite a bit in the ruins to get it.
Sand Sea Ruins are filled with various types of traps, and once you brave through enough of them, you’ll reach an area with a lot of water at the bottom and wooden platforms that you can climb leading you up. In this area, jump down in the water and you’ll see a small entrance down here.
If you go underwater and swim around, you can find a body with a few coins on it.
Enter this secret area and get out of the water inside to find the Dirty Brown Key on the ground. It’ll be shining with a golden glow, making it quite hard to miss.
What To Do With Dirty Brown Key
After getting the Dirty Brown Key, you can head back out of the water through the same path and then climb the wooden platforms. After a few jumps, you’ll see a secluded area on your right. Jump to this area and you’ll find a door at the top that takes the Dirty Brown Key.
This door can also be opened with one lockpick, and it opens up an alternate path for you to reach the last area in these ruins without having any battle. However, you’ll have to dodge a bunch of flame traps instead.
