Legacy: Steel & Sorcery is set in the visually beautiful world of Mithrigarde. While some aspects may feel lacking, the gameplay makes up for it. The RPG differs from most games, allowing you the choice to take action and forge your path instead of narrating a backstory of previous events.

This year was PACKED with great RPGs! It’s astounding how many bangers there really were. Let’s look at our favorites!
The game has four main classes, each with unique abilities that you can use against enemies or even other players if you want. While Legacy: Steel & Sorcery is a PvPvE RPG, you can avoid fighting other players altogether and focus on non-player enemies. Of course, you could also kill everyone and wreck mayhem.
The game is currently in early access, and the content of this article is subject to change.

Warrior Class
This class is best for you if you don’t want to miss any part of the action. |
---|
The Warrior class in Legacy: Steel & Sorcery relies on their sheer strength to overpower enemies to achieve their goals. The Warrior uses heavy and medium weapons against opponents and also has unique abilities that help them. For instance, their Whirlwind ability is a spin attack they can use to deal physical damage to all nearby enemies with their large axe. The Warrior’s Quake ability has the character slam their mace on the ground to deal damage to enemies while simultaneously slowing them down.
The most useful ability the Warrior can use from afar is the Iron Grip, which pulls enemies towards them and also stuns them for a short duration. Leveling up the Warrior unlocks other abilities that make this character even stronger. For example, the level six ability Heroic Leap lets you jump to the target’s location to not only deal damage but also slow them down upon landing.
3
Hunter Class
This class could be the right choice for you if you prefer to stay away from the fight while potentially changing the course of the battle. |
---|
The Hunter class in Legacy: Steel & Sorcery focuses on their speed and tricks to take down enemies rather than brute strength. Compared to the Warrior, the Hunter uses their bow to perform ranged attacks to damage enemies rather than melee weapons. If they’re ambushed, the Hunter has a wide range of abilities at their disposal to eliminate enemies. Using the Elven Dance, the Hunter can quickly perform an evasive maneuver and also counteract with a charged shot. This may be a rare occurrence as Hunter are nimble on their feet, and catching them off guard is fairly rare.
The Hunter’s abilities also allow them to throw modified seeds with varying exploding effects. The Spore Bomb creates a poison cloud after detonation, while the Flying Seed Bomb sticks to the object it hits, letting you shoot it with an arrow to detonate it. The Hunter can also use traps to deal damage to opponents. Their Shock Beetle ability deploys a burrowing beetle that deals nature damage and stuns incoming enemies for a short duration. The Hunter can also consume her Swiftness to command sentinels to attack enemies.
2
Priest Class
The Priest class can be the best for you if you want to protect allies while using magic and lightning to deal damage to enemies. |
---|
The Priest class is the game’s healer who can provide much-needed respite to allies, but that doesn’t mean they can’t hold their own in a fight. Their Healing Spark ability allows them to charge their weapon with light, healing injured allies, while their Floating Mirror summons a holy mirror that floats forward, absorbing projectiles until destroyed. On the other hand, the Priest’s Bouncing Star ability fires a star that hits and bounces off enemies. The star gains more power for each enemy it hits, and it explodes if it doesn’t hit anything for ten seconds.

Best Action RPGs For Beginners
So many games to choose from and so little time! These beginner aRPGs are perfect for those just getting into the genre.
Once you reach level 15, you can use the Heaven’s Wrath ability. This ability calls down a pillar of lightning that shoots forward while casting Heaven’s Fury on every enemy caught in it, ensuring they can make a clear path to injured allies.
1
Rogue Class
The Rogue class may be right for you if you like to operate from the shadows. Out of sight but never out of mind. |
---|
The Rogue class uses stealth and deception to defeat opponents while hiding in the shadows. Their strongest aspect is their speed, and the Blade Rush ability is the best example of this. The Blade Rush ability has you charge forward while dealing damage to every enemy you pass through. The Rogue’s abilities use claws to attack enemies with various effects. For instance, the Poisoned Claw causes physical damage and applies poison buildup to the target for a short duration. The Rogue can also use the Stealth ability to temporarily turn invisible. While the invisibility in Legacy: Steel & Sorcery doesn’t make you completely vanish, it still makes it significantly harder for enemies to see you. Dealing or taking damage breaks the ability’s effect.
You can use the Phantom Veil ability at level 18, which grants you invisibility while summoning a low-health decoy of yours. The decoy continues to take action like you to fool enemies, letting you sneak away. You can also reactivate the ability to teleport to the decoy’s location. The Rogue’s Grapple ability functions similarly to the Warrior’s Iron Grip ability, but instead of pulling an enemy towards you, it pulls you to the target.
