Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Share Strategies To Easily Beat Meowscarada Tera Raids

Following the 2025 Pokemon Day festivities, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players developed and shared methods to defeat the newest Seven-Star Tera Raid boss, Meowscarada the Unrivaled. On social media, two Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers posted how specific Fire-type Pokemon easily took down Meowscarada in solo and team play.

Known as the Magician Pokemon, Meowscarada is the final evolution of Sprigatito and Floragato. As the Grass-type starter of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Meowscarada also gains the Dark-type as its secondary type when fully evolved. Meowscarada is known for its high speed and physical attack stats, making it one of the top physical sweepers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. As a Seven-Star Tera Raid Boss that first appeared on Pokemon Day, Meowscarada the Unrivaled uses the moves Flower Trick, Play Rough, Acrobatics, Night Slash, Hone Claws, Grassy Terrain, and Petal Blizzard.

Vehicle manufacturer Honda is announcing a collaboration with Pokemon to create a life-sized Koraidon bike from Pokemon Scarlet.

Given that Grass-type Pokemon are weak against Fire-type attacks, two Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers shared different ways to beat the new Tera Raid boss. On the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit, users No-Pool-7850 and Lumfdoesgaming shared their methods for defeating Meowscarada the Unrivaled. No-Pool-7850 used a strategy that involved a coordinated team that revolved around Charizard defeating Meowscarada in a single strike. Charizard was supported by Florges, Koraidon, and Corviknight.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Strategists Use Charizard and Skeledirge To Beat Meowscarada Tera Raid

In the first turn, Koraidon used Helping Hand on Charizard, while Florges triggered Charizard’s Weakness Policy with Chilling Water, and passed the Choice Specs item to Charizard via the Symbiosis ability. Corviknight used Fake Tears to weaken Meowscarada’s special defense. Koraidon’s Orichalcum Pulse ability also allowed harsh sunlight to boost Charizard’s fire attacks even more. After a turn of setting up, Charizard unleashed Blast Burn to defeat Meowscarada in a single move.

As for Lumfdoesgaming, their strategy was focused on soloing Meowscarada with NPC partners at their side. The main Fire Pokemon for this composition was Skeledirge, the Fire and Ghost starter of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Skeledirge had the moves Protect, Torch Song, Flamethrower, and Shadow Ball, though the first three were all that Lumfdoesgaming needed to beat Meowscarada. After using the Fire-type attack Torch Song three times to boost Skeledirge’s special attack, Protect was used to shield Skeledirge from Meowscarada’s boss ability that wipes stats and abilities for a turn. After Terastallizing and maxing out its Special Attack, Skeledirge used Flamethrower to finish the fight.

Meowscarada the Unrivaled can be fought in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet until Thursday, March 6, when Skeledirge the Unrivaled will take its place. Ergo, Pokemon trainers will need to update their Tera Raid strategies against each of the Unrivaled Paldean starters.
