Pokemon Fan Shows Off Dugtrio Cosplay

A talented Pokemon fan recently shared their unique Dugtrio cosplay, which paints the ground-type Pokemon in a new light. First introduced as part of Generation 1, Dugtrio has grown popular among Pokemon enthusiasts over the years, leading to a variety of interesting fan interpretations.

Being among the earliest Pokemon created, Dugtrio has enjoyed a long presence in the franchise and has appeared in a plethora of Pokemon-related media, from video games to animated series. As a consequence, longtime fans have come across the Ground-type Pokemon on multiple occasions, whether it be in 1998’s Pokemon Red and Blue or in 2022’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Throughout this period, Dugtrio has also inspired various fan creations, with the latest one to catch the attention of the community being an original cosplay.

On Reddit, user svperdone posted pictures of their creative Dugtrio cosplay that amusingly gives the Pokemon a human-like torso along with accentuated muscular features. While the imaginative artist added the superhero-like chiseled upper body as a personal touch to the Dugtrio cosplay, they opted to keep the head part as close to the existing look of the triplet Pokemon as they could. Among the recognizable features retained were the ground creature’s iconic frown and its pinkish-red nose, which was depicted as comically larger than in the original design.

In the comments under the post, several Pokemon fans appreciated svperdone’s efforts at an original cosplay. One fan expressed his approval of the fan creation, saying “… this is one of my favorites so far.” On the flip side, another user jokingly remarked, “The definition of ‘Dugtrio we have at home.'” A different user also shared their interest in seeing the Alolan version of Dugtrio next by adding a triad of wigs to the costume. Interestingly, quite a few artists have depicted Pokemon‘s Dugtrio in unique ways, ranging from custom variants to an ice-cream version of the character.

Elsewhere, it has been an eventful week so far for Pokemon fans, thanks to the reveals that took place during Pokemon Presents 2025. There were new announcements about certain future releases, such as Pokemon Champions and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, as well as updates about the existing catalog of games, including Pokemon TCG Pocket, Pokemon Unite, Pokemon Sleep, and more. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A confirmed for release on the Switch later in 2025 and a slate of new content drops coming across other Pokemon games, there’s an interesting number of projects for fans of the IP to look forward to right now.
