Some outspoken PlayStation fans have recently been taking to social media to question what’s happening with a few games—including Pragmata—that were announced years ago but are yet to show clear signs of nearing release. Their concerns highlight the often unpredictable nature of game development, both within and beyond the PlayStation ecosystem.
Pragmata is a sci-fi action adventure with horror undertones that Capcom announced back in June 2020. On that occasion, the Japanese gaming giant said that Pragmata was targeting a 2022 release.

Everything Revealed About Capcom’s Pragmata So Far
Pragmata is one of Capcom’s most mysterious projects, and it’s set to give sci-fi fans a brand new space-faring adventure to play through.
Nearly five years and two major Pragmata delays later, the project still seems nowhere close to materializing. Disappointed with this state of affairs, some PlayStation fans have recently publicly questioned what’s happening with the long-awaited title. The trend started with Reddit user DelayConnect335 asking for a status update on Pragmata, a game that they say has been on their wishlist since 2020. The question amassed thousands of upvotes and promptly emerged on the front page of the r/PlayStation subreddit in late February 2025, suggesting that many other Sony console owners would also like to know what’s happening with Pragmata.
DelayConnect335’s question prompted some people to remember Little Devil Inside, another PlayStation title that’s been in the works for many a year. Originally announced through a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised the equivalent of $190,000, the action RPG has been rebooted several times since its April 2015 reveal. Developer Neostream Interactive broke its years-long silence on Little Devil Inside back in early 2024, when it shared six minutes of gameplay footage and acknowledged fan frustrations with its lack of development updates. “We’ve not forgotten,” the studio said at the time, albeit without committing to a concrete release window.
Game Development Cycles Are Getting Longer
While both Pragmata and Little Devil Inside seem to be facing development difficulties, their challenges are also reflective of macro industry trends. Game development cycles have been getting longer for a while now, particularly since the onset of the 2020 pandemic. Increased fan expectations and higher technical demands are some of the factors contributing to this trend, as are increased technology-specific challenges.
Apart from PlayStation consoles, Little Devil Inside and Pragmata were also previously confirmed for the Xbox Series X/S and PC. Additionally, Little Devil Inside was announced for the Nintendo Switch. As of March 2025, Pragmata appears to be in greater trouble, as nearly two years have passed since Capcom provided any kind of update on the project. The latest bit of Pragmata-related news also wasn’t particularly encouraging, merely announcing an indefinite delay.
