One Piece Anime Is Returning From Hiatus in 6 Weeks
Will Be Back On April 6th
One Piece is one of the biggest series in the world. It is also one of the longest-running anime. A few months ago, in late 2024, it was announced that the anime would be going on hiatus for 6 whole months. Specifically, it went on hiatus on October 27, 2024.
Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for the anime’s return, and the date on which the One Piece anime is returning is rapidly approaching.
The One Piece anime is scheduled to return on April 6, 2025. So in other words, the One Piece anime will be back in around 6 weeks, or about a month and a half. The wait was definitely long, but it’s now only a few weeks until the Egghead arc resumes in the anime with Part 2.
In the meantime, the remastered version of the Fishman Island arc will continue airing.
What This Means For The One Piece Anime
The One Piece Anime Could Become Seasonal
This sudden hiatus for One Piece was unusual, to say the least. Nobody really expected it, but it could become a more common occurrence. One Piece has been a weekly anime since its beginning, back in 1999, but it might be time for a change.

One huge issue One Piece struggles with is pacing, and a seasonal adaptation would definitely fix this issue. It’s also hard to maintain such high-quality animation on a weekly basis, so a seasonal anime would give animators more time to work on the show by improving production conditions.
For now, nothing is set in stone, and fans will have to see what step the anime takes next after they wrap up the Egghead Island arc in the show.
