The first phase of the Elbaf arc was rather slow, but it was most enjoyable to the fans, and that goes without saying. The Gomu Gomu no mi was stolen in One Piece. Originally, it was in Elbaf.
But, now, the adventure in Elbaf is over, which means that fans now have to turn their eyes to exciting action, which Oda has been slowly building up towards. It is no surprise to know that with the action in Elbaf beginning, a lot of powerful Devil Fruits are now going to be revealed one by one, but the one that fans have their eyes on right now belongs to none other than Loki, the Accursed Prince of Elbaf.
Loki Is Finally Freed From Chains
- One Piece 1141 Saw Loki Being Freed
- Loki’s Strength Will Finally Be Revealed
One Piece chapter 1141 was absolutely massive for the story in many ways, and much of it was down to the fact that major plot developments concerning Loki finally took place. In the previous chapter of the story, fans saw Luffy and Zoro fight for the key to Loki’s cuffs, and when they finally got it, fans expected Oda to stretch out the time until they actually got to Loki. However, One Piece chapter 1141 was actually quite surprising for the fans in many ways, especially as the pacing was good enough to see Luffy and Zoro in the Underworld already. There, the two contemplated whether they wanted Loki freed or not, and while Luffy was in support of it, especially after seeing the terrible condition that Loki was in, Zoro argued against it, not knowing what freeing Loki would bring to the country. While both made valid arguments at the end of the day, it was Luffy whose decision was followed, as Loki was finally freed. However, Zoro had his own condition and that was to leave one Seastone cuff on his foot intact.
Well, unfortunately, you’re late. He’s free already. — Zoro
One Piece chapter 1141 finally saw Loki being freed from his shackles for the most part. As the chains came off, Loki finally stood up, and towered over the Straw Hat Pirates as well as the New Giant Warrior Pirates. According to Luffy, this was a surprise in itself, especially after seeing how much damage he’d taken and the fact that he still had Seastone cuffs attached to his foot. Yet, now, it is clear that Loki is up and that he looks ready to fight, despite being in a weakened condition at the moment.
Loki’s Devil Fruit Ability Could Be Revealed Soon
One Piece 1141 Could See Loki Getting Out Of His Chains
Fans could be very close to seeing Loki’s Devil Fruit, after all this waiting. For those who do not remember, it was clearly stated in the Elbaf arc right at the very beginning that the country had a very special Devil Fruit that was passed down the royal line for ages. This Devil Fruit was most likely being saved for some reason. Perhaps, those in Elbaf believed that the Sun God would one day come and claim this power and the era would turn on its head. Regardless, this Legendary Devil Fruit was eventually consumed by Loki. It is said that Loki killed his father to consume this Devil Fruit, however, the truth of it is far deeper. It is a fact that Harald was involved with the Government, in one way or another.
I am the Sun God who will destroy the whole world! — Loki
He is portrayed to have had a friendly relationship with Shamrock Figarland for some reason, so much so that Shamrock even visited his grave at times. Loki, naturally, killed Harald, or at least took the blame for it. It is entirely possible that he then went on to consume the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf. Loki ate his fruit 14 years ago, at the very least. Then, for 8 years, he rampaged both in and out of Elbaf.

Luffy will have another power up in Elbaf. Gear 5 alone won’t be enough for One Piece’s Final Saga.
Eventually, 6 years ago, Loki was finally defeated by Red-haired Shanks, and then returned to Elbaf, where he was chained to the giant Adam Tree in the Underworld of the country. For 6 years, Loki has been there, chained up. But now, his chains are off.
Of course, fans most likely won’t get the reveal of his Devil Fruit powers in One Piece chapter 1142. However, a glimpse of his strength will most definitely be given to the readers. But, now that Loki is finally free, it is only a matter of time before he shows what he’s truly capable of. There are a few ways using which Loki can get the last Seastone cuff off his foot. He could potentially use Ragnir to break the cuff itself, which would be a remarkable feat. Or, after passing out from his injuries, Loki could forge a bond with Luffy, and have his chains removed that way. Either way, Loki’s Devil Fruit reveal should come around One Piece chapter 1144.
What Is Loki’s Devil Fruit Power?
Loki’s Devil Fruit Could Be Related To Nika
Loki believes himself to be the God of Destruction, as in his mind, Nika is a god who destroys. As such, whatever ability Loki has must have tremendous potential for destruction. On top of that, Scopper Gaban, who knows of Loki’s powers, clearly stated that he can cause large-scale destruction, and many believe that Loki can destroy Elbaf itself. This gives a clear idea that Loki can ruin the whole country using his might. As such, it has to be a tremendously overpowered legendary Devil Fruit. There are quite a few overpowered abilities out there, such as Fenrir and Jormungandr. Undoubtedly, these are fitting abilities for him. However, his powers must be something even more overpowered, such as the power of the Sun itself. Theoretically, any ability can exist in One Piece, and nuclear energy should be up there with the strongest forms of energy. Perhaps, Loki has the power of nuclear energy, which would fall into the Logia category, making him a very overpowered character.
This would also make Loki the perfect enemy of Elbaf. In One Piece chapter 1141, it was stated that fire and lightning are Elbaf’s two biggest weaknesses. Loki, whose hammer Ragnir, can most likely produce lightning, already checks one box. There is only one ability that is missing, and that is the power to produce flames. In fact, Loki even committed arson long ago, and this could’ve been a hint by Oda. Loki’s ability is related to fire, or more so, the sun itself. Given that the Sun correlates to nuclear energy, it is entirely possible that Loki’s power is the greatest source of energy in the world.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1141, is set to be March 2, 2025.
