Fast travel in Monster Hunter Wilds is tied to major locations and camps, but you won’t be able to use fast travel right away. This guide explains how to unlock fast travel in Monster Hunter Wilds and the two methods players can use to fast travel between specific points.
How To Unlock Monster Hunter Wilds Fast Travel System
To unlock fast travel, Monster Hunter Wilds players unlock at least one other fast travel point. Kunafa, Windsong Village is the first major location aside from the Plain Base Camp that players will discover. After completing the main MHW mission ‘Village Of The Whispering Winds’, you should be able to fast travel between Kunafa and the Plains Camp.
Though you can fast travel back to the Plains Base Camp before completing this mission, this is the first time players unlock another fast travel point in the open world.
Later on, players will unlock the ability to place down Pop-Up Camps in specific locations throughout each region, which serve as Monster Hunter Wilds fast travel points in the open world environment.

You will also discover additional regions which each have their own Base Camp, starting with the Forest Base Camp after completing ‘To The Forest’. How To Fast Travel In Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds you can only fast travel between Base Camps in each locale, Pop-Up Camps within each region, and certain major locations like Kunafa, Windsong Village.
To fast travel, Monster Hunter Wilds can either open their map and scroll over to a fast travel point manually, or open up the expandable Fast Travel List menu to see a list of available camps and locations.
- Open up your minimap or full map, then zoom out as far as you can go within a region. This will highlight all available fast travel points and cut out any other map icons. Move your cursor over a fast travel point and press the A or X button. These icons will usually be larger than others if you stay zoomed in.
- To see a list of available fast travel points, open up the full map, then press right on the D-pad to select the Fast Travel List menu. Open the menu to see a full list of all fast travel points you have unlocked without having to find them on the map.
You can also fast travel directly to one of the Monster Hunter Wilds locales once you unlock a second locale to travel to. On the World Map, select the region you want to travel to and you will be teleported to the Base Camp associated with the locale.
There are no requirements needed to fast travel in Monster Hunter Wilds except to discover locations and unlock the ability to set up camps. Set up lots of Pop-Up Camps, complete main quests to unlock new regions and major locations, and you’ll unlock plenty of fast travel locations in no time.
