You’ll meet your Seikret during the opening section of Monster Hunter Wilds, learning how to ride it and generally use it for exploration and combat. With the open-world format of this game, your Seikret will be very useful in getting to far-away places quickly, while also being seen and used throughout a lot of main story missions.
While there are no gameplay perks or stat bonuses to worry about when it comes to customizing your Seikret, you can choose to change the way it looks and even change its name as it appears on screen; here’s how to do both.

Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a new monster injury system called Wounds, and a new aim assist called Focus Mode. Here is how they work.
How To Customize & Name Your Seikret In Monster Hunter Wilds
Unlike changing your character’s appearance, you’ll need to unlock Seikret Customization by progressing the main story of the game. You’ll first need to get to and complete Chapter 1-4, A Hunter’s Pride, which will see you hunting an Alpha Doshaguma. Once you’ve killed the monster, return to Kunafa, Windsong Village, and head inside from the entrance and towards the left. If you’re already in a later region of the game, you’ll need to find your way back to the first to unlock customization.
Here you’ll find Nona standing near some Seikret, and talking to her will give you the option to customize your Seikret. Nona can be interacted with to customize your Seikret whenever you want, but after talking with her the first time you’ll be able to access the same customization menu whenever you want at your tent in the Appearance Menu.
You can choose to customize the following things:
- Skin Color
- Inner Feather Color
- Outer Feather Color
- Pattern Thickness
- Pattern Color
- Pattern Transparency
- Eye Color (Both eyes or just one)
- Decoration Type
- Pendant Type
The Decoration type can change the saddle and gear your Seikret has equipped, though the armor you can choose to put on it is purely cosmetic. The final option in the customization screen for your Seikret is to change its name. This name is never said in the game, but it is the name that will appear over its head whenever it is seen in-game. You can choose to change the name of your Seikret as often as you’d like, without any sort of limitation as long as you stay within the limit of 15 characters.
You’ll only get the one Seikret throughout the game, but you can choose to change it up however much you’d like whenever you’re near a tent.
