While playing Avowed, you’ll find many things that you can find in most other open-world games like main quests, side quests, and secret areas with rare treasure in them. However, apart from these, the game also has various landmarks that you can find in each region.

There are five Ancient Memories in Avowed, and each of them offers a useful upgrade for your Envoy.
One of these landmarks is known as Strangled Adra, and you can see the counter for them in each region when you go to the map. Each main region only has one Strangled Adra, but they can be quite difficult to reach.
Dawnshore Strangled Adra Location
You’ll find the first Strangled Adra on the southeastern side of Dawnshore near the exit that you have to take to get to Emerald Stairs. Just before you enter the bridge to the exit, you’ll see the Strangled Adra on your left high up. To get to it, you have to enter the cave below.
Take the left path after you enter and go up to find the first main room. Simply activate the lever in this room and you can move to the second one. In this room, you first have to remove the two vines on your right. Enter the path revealed by the second vine and you can explode a barrel here.
This will get rid of the wall and you can then activate the lever to get past this room and reach the Adra.
Emerald Stairs Strangled Adra Location
The Emerald Stairs Adra is likely the easiest one to find as you simply have to reach its location. You can find it on the western side of the map just above Tama’s Cabin, which gets marked as soon as you enter the region.
As you reach the location, you just have to climb up a few steps and you can easily interact with the Adra.
Shatterscarp Strangled Adra Location
The third region in Avowed is Shatterscarp, and the Strangled Adra here can be found on the Broken Crown Rock to the north of the Great Sand Sea. Head to the top right side of this rock and you’ll see a few steps leading you into it. Jump on these and then on the step to your right.
After that, jump on the small rock on the northern side and then the ledge to the left. From here, you have to jump around the wall and grab the ledge on the other side. You can then follow the path and break a fire barrier to reach the Adra.
Galawain’s Tusk Strangled Adra Location
The Strangled Adra in the fourth region of Avowed is another simple one to find, and you can start the journey for it from the Sallow Steppe party camp, which is the first one that you’ll likely unlock after entering this region. Exit this camp while looking in the northeastern direction.
After you exit, you’ll see Adra pillars inside the walls. You can simply follow the alley with these pillars and you’ll eventually reach a Xaurip camp with the Adra at the top. Defeat the Xaurips and you can climb your way to it.
The Garden Strangled Adra Location
The fifth and final Strangled Adra can be found in The Garden area, which you’ll reach at the end of your main quest. Progress through this area by following the main quest marker until you go past the Maegfolc Graveyard. You’ll enter an inner area by going through a door here.
In this area, you’ll eventually go through a small door into a pool of water. Go underwater in this pool and come out on the other side where you’ll notice two paths. Take the path on the left for this Adra. As you move forward, you’ll have to create an ice structure in the water to jump on the further ledge.
You can simply do this by shooting the plant on the wall. Go along the ledge and you can then jump to your final Strangled Adra.
