The only way to get the Anglers Lantern is to feed Anglerfish, which doesn’t take much time but requires a good donation in the form of Orca or The Kraken. Still, it’s a rather confusing and unusual experience in terms of game mechanics, so if you need help, we’ve prepared a detailed guide on Angler Lantern and how to get it.
How To Obtain The Angler Lantern
You can get the Angler Lantern after you reach Abyssal Zenith. This is the third sub-location in the cave system and the last one where you can get upgrades for your submarine. To acquire the last upgrade for your submarine, you should obtain the Angler Lantern, and compared to the other items in the crafting recipe, this one is probably the hardest to get.
So, before we get into the details, it’s worth mentioning how to reach Abyssal Zenith. If you haven’t participated in the Mariana’s Veil event yet, here’s a list of everything you need to do:
- Build a submarine in Rosilt Bay.
- Head to Volcanic Vents. There, collect all the necessary items to get the Submarine Heat Upgrade and move on.
- After Volcanic Vents, you will be taken to Challenger’s Deep. As in the previous case, in this area you also need to collect items for a new submarine upgrade.
- After completing the Challenger’s Deep, you will finally be able to travel to Abyssal Zenith. To reach it, you will also need to swim through dark caves and three Anglerfish that can kill you if they touch you.
Finally, once you swim into the cave and get out of the submarine, you can go for the Angler Lantern. All you have to do is get into the pool where you can fish with the bait and feed the Anglerfish. After that, it will fall asleep, and you can take the Angler Lantern from its head.
What To Feed The Anglerfish
Before that, you will need to find something to feed Anglerfish, and there are only two options: : Orca or The Kraken. Both are exotic fish species, so be sure to catch them beforehand to avoid any trouble in the caves. Apart from that, you will also need Diving Equipment such as Advanced Diving Gear and Super Flippers. Once you have all of this ready, follow the instructions to collect the Angler Lantern:
- Put on your diving gear.
- Take Orca or The Kraken in your hands.
- Dive into the pool.
- Swim up to one of the Anglerfish. Hover over it and press the interact button.
- Wait until it falls asleep.
- Approach and hover over the lantern on its head and press the interact button to collect the Angler Lantern.
It’s worth noting that the Anglerfish is aggressive and will try to kill you. Therefore, be careful to avoid their attacks in time and feed one of them to pick up the loot.
