When you start a new game in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll be greeted with an in-depth character creator that lets you customize every single detail of your Hunter and Palico. You can tweak pretty much everything you want, starting from the looks of your Hunter right down to how they sound or run.
If you rushed through character creation, you might be surprised to hear your Palico speaking like a human. For those used to the classic Felyne chatter from past Monster Hunter games, this might be a bit unsettling. Luckily, it’s not too late to change it your Palico’s voice, and while you’re at it, you can also fine-tune your Hunter’s voice as well.

How to Change Your Hunter’s Voice in Monster Hunter Wilds
The simplest way to change your Hunter’s voice in Monster Hunter Wilds is during character creation before you start the game. However, if you missed that option or later decide you want a different voice, you can still change it at any time from your Player Tent at camp.
Head inside the tent and navigate to the Appearance Menu. From here, select Change Appearance, which will take you back to the character creator. Select the Hunter option to access the player’s character creation window. The Voice Pitch option near the bottom lets you choose from 20 different pitches, allowing you to fine-tune your Hunter’s voice to match their personality.
You can also select the Equipment Appearance option from the Appearance Menu to hide your Helmet or other pieces of armor if you want.
How to Change Your Palico’s Voice in Monster Hunter Wilds
Your Palico’s voice can be changed from the same character creation menu you accessed through the Player Tent. Similar to the Hunter’s settings, there are 20 different voice pitch options to choose from for your Palico.
Most importantly, you’ll also find a Felyne Language toggle in this menu. According to Monster Hunter lore, Palicos are capable of speaking in human language, but if you find it unsettling, you can switch it off to make them speak in their traditional Felyne language.
Unlike some RPGs that lock in character customization after you start the game, Monster Hunter Wilds gives you the freedom to tweak your Hunter and Palico whenever you want. Whether you rushed through the character creator or simply want to experiment with different voices and styles, you can always head back to your tent and make adjustments on the fly.
