Best Recommended Weapons

  • Long Sword
  • Great Sword
  • Charge Blade

Best Recommended Skills

  • Ear Plugs
  • Tremor Resistance

Weapons with slashing damage have a bit of an advantage against Alpha Doshaguma because they do bonus damage on its legs, which are the easiest target to hit. You can also hit the weak spot on his belly easier if you have longer range, so Long Sword, Great Sword, Charge Blade, or Insect Glaive are all great options.

Alpha Doshaguma has no elemental attacks, so you don’t need to worry about using a specific armor set with elemental resistances. Instead, prioritize armor and decos that offer the Earplugs and Tremor Resistance skills. These skills will help you keep the pressure on Alpha Doshaguma when it tries to disrupt your attacks.

Alpha Doshaguma – Fight Breakdown And Moves

Before taking on Alpha Doshaguma you’ll need to separate it from the pack. There are a few ways to achieve this, but targeting the smaller Doshaguma with Dung Pods is the most straightforward approach. Start by attacking the Alpha Doshaguma to pull his focus to you, then fire Dung Pods at the other Doshaguma to ward them away. Once you’ve isolated the alpha, it’s time to get to work.

For most of the fight, Alpha Doshaguma will attack using its forelegs. It has several attacks you need to watch out for, including side swipes, pounces, and leap attacks. Targeting his weak face and his breakable forelegs is the most efficient way to approach this hunt, but it also puts you in the monster’s most direct line of attack.

Alpha Doshaguma is extremely easy to mount, which is something you can take advantage of to knock the large beast over repeatedly. Insect Glaive excels at this, but any weapon is capable of mounting. Be on the lookout for Wedge Beetles that you can grapple onto to get some height.

Alpha Doshaguma is a very mobile land creature, which makes it particularly susceptible to traps. Keep an eye out for things in your environment you can use to damage or trap the monster and lure it into them. Falling rocks and net traps are useful environmental tools that will help you control the fight, and you can always lay down a shock trap to immobilize it.

This monster’s biggest weak point is on its belly, which can be difficult to target because it stands relatively close to the ground. Alpha Doshaguma will tempt you to attack its belly when it rears back to slam on the ground, but only ranged weapons like Bowguns and Bows will be able to take advantage of this opening. The best time to attack its belly is after you knock Doshaguma over. It will temporarily lay on its side and writhe around, at which point you have a long opening to direct damage straight into its soft belly.

When Alpha Doshaguma is low on health its wounds will open up and become weakpoints. Pay attention to its broken areas, which will appear white at first. When they become open wounds, target them to deal additional damage. Each weapon has a specific attack that is used to destroy wounds, which is an effective way to deal lots of damage and stagger Alpha Doshaguma.
