Summary
- Vegito could potentially use Vegeta’s Divine Technique of Ultra Ego due to his influence from Vegeta.
- Gogeta might be able to utilize Goku’s Divine Technique of Ultra Instinct with more precision and effectiveness.
- A fusion of Goku and Vegeta in their most powerful forms could wield both Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, surpassing even the Gods.
The concept of fusion is not only one of the most creative aspects of the Dragon Ball franchise, but it is also among the most beloved. The very idea of having 2 incredibly powerful warriors merge into a single fighter who far eclipses them both is amazing, and the few times it has been used in the story has birthed some of the series’ most popular characters, namely Vegito and Gogeta.
However, these fusions are used sparingly within the series as too many of their showings could feel like they’ve overstayed their welcome. Despite this, each time a fusion between Goku and Vegeta is done in Dragon Ball, it goes down as one of the series’ most memorable moments. Vegito and Gogeta have always been the strongest but the most powerful version of Goku and Vegeta’s fusions have never been explored, so what could they be?

Naturally, most would assume that when a fusion happens between two characters, the resulting warrior is able to use the techniques of both due to that being an aspect of who they are. While this would likely be the case regardless, it’s currently unknown how that would work with Divine Techniques, since Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego are opposite techniques that behave completely differently. Due to Vegito largely taking more after Vegeta than Goku, it could make sense for him to make use of Ultra Ego as his own.
This is because Vegito clearly has much more of an influence from Vegeta’s personality, demeanor, and even his fighting style. Just like how Vegeta is a brawler who cares more about brute strength and humiliating his opponents, Vegito has also been shown to take after this trait in his fights against Ultimate Buu and Merged Zamasu.
The merging of Vegeta and Kakarot needs a name! Vegito has a nice ring to it. Honestly, I was worried how this would work, but I’ve turned out even better than I thought possible!
The concept of him getting Ultra Ego due to taking more after Vegeta is a sound one. Both in the anime and manga, Vegito has been described as the perfect fighter in more than just his strength, so it is highly likely that if he were to inherit Vegeta’s Ultra Ego, he would be a far better user of it than his constituent as well. For all the strength that the Divine Transformation grants him, Vegeta has only used it once and was unable to hone it properly, so to see it in the hands of someone far more capable would show it without its downsides.
In any situation, the concept of taking more damage to get stronger doesn’t seem like an equal trade. However, this technique is the one that all the Destroyer Gods use, so it’s likely that there is a further level of mastery required to use it to its fullest extent, which Vegito would definitely have a better chance at pulling off than Vegeta. It’s currently a mystery how this could look but many fans believe that a strengthened body, similar to Goku’s in his Mastered Ultra Instinct form, could make the difference here, and it would suit Vegito perfectly.

On the other hand, most fans agree that Gogeta is the fusion that takes more after Goku, which can be seen in the way his fighting style differs from that of Vegito. Unlike the Potara Fusion, Gogeta places an emphasis on technique over brute strength much like Goku does, and seems much more like an all-around compassionate and kind character as well. Unlike Vegito, he doesn’t seek to humiliate his opponent, as he only seeks to get the job done.
As such, his likeness to Goku makes many believe that he would have Ultra Instinct as his own Divine Transformation but would wield it with far more precision and tact than Goku could. Whis revealed that although Ultra Instinct is the pinnacle of Martial Arts in every regard, there are various degrees to mastering it since it is the most difficult technique to perfect. Even among Angels, who are in this state perpetually, there are varying degrees of its effectiveness.
Our strengths aren’t just added together, they’re significantly magnified!
While Gogeta still wouldn’t even be close to an Angel like Whis, he would be far more accurate and adept at the use of Ultra Instinct than Goku would be since that is just the nature of fusions as a whole. Aside from personality and fighting style, Vegito and Gogeta are functionally the same person, so that means they are equal in strength as well. Because of this, Gogeta can be considered the perfect warrior in the same way Vegito can.
Due to this, Gogeta would make an excellent user of Ultra Instinct since his understanding and method of using the power would just be far better than Goku’s. Moreover, he would also be able to keep his stamina and overall energy levels in check far better than Goku could, so Gogeta with Ultra Instinct would undoubtedly be one of the most powerful characters in the entire Dragon Ball franchise.

Dragon Ball: Daima Is Set To Reveal The Greatest Fusion Ever
With the recent debut of Goku’s brand-new Super Saiyan 4 form, fans have already begun to speculate the return of a fan-favorite fusion!
A Fusion Who Can Use Both Techniques
The Perfect Warrior
However, the reality most likely is that if Goku and Vegeta were to fuse in their most powerful states, the resulting fusion would be able to use both Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego simultaneously, making him the perfect warrior who would likely leave even Beerus and the rest of the Gods of Destruction in the dust. Although Beerus is the most powerful of these Destroyers, he can only use Ultra Instinct Omen.
By having the union of both of the Divine Techniques in the series, either Gogeta or Vegito would functionally be using the powers of the Gods of Destruction and Angels at once, making them the most offensively and defensively capable warriors in the multiverse. No one else can boast that same feat. As for which fusion would be the better option to do this, it seems that Gogeta would likely be the proper choice to make on this due to the stability of the Metamoran method.
It’s a simple technique, but we have to harmonize our spiritual energies or it won’t work.
Although the Potara Earrings are incredibly convenient for a quick fusion, it was revealed that if the power output is far too great, then the standard 30 minute timer for mortals can end even earlier than anticipated. This was seen in Vegito’s battle against Merged Zamasu, where even the power of Super Saiyan Blue proved to be far too great for the Potara Earrings. In that case, the power of Goku and Vegeta using their Divine Transformations would barely even let the Potara fusion last for a little while.
However, the Fusion Dance, while incredibly time-consuming and inconvenient to perform perfectly, is far more stable as it lasted a full 30 minutes with Gogeta in Super Saiyan Blue against Broly. Moving on, there is the prospect of the Join Bugs, which are a method of fusion that fans currently know very little about. If the theories are to be believed, then this could form a brand-new fusion with the strengths of both Vegito and Gogeta with none of the drawbacks.
Dragon Ball can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
