Avowed: Every Class, Ranked

Which is the best class to pick in Avowed?

You’ll soon find that there are different tiers to the weapons in the game, but the ones you’ll want to look out for are the unique weapons. These weapons come with built-in enchantments that you can upgrade in your camp and pack a more powerful punch than normal weapons. From blades wreathed in flame to overpowered guns, here are the best unique weapons in Avowed.

Keep in mind that even though these weapons are unique, their quality is tied to the highest-grade quality gear/weapon you have.

9

Last Light Of Day

The Last Light of Day is a unique sword that you can earn as part of the Dawntreader side quest. In this quest, you’ll meet another godlike, Sargamis, who’s attempting to get his invention to work. You’ll be presented with the choice of deciding how this quest will end, whether you choose to kill Sargamis, persuade him to sacrifice his life or sacrifice your own.

However, all these outcomes will lead you to get Sargamis’ sword, the Last Light of Day. This sword, as suggested by its appearance, will allow you to deal fire damage to your enemies. You can enchant this weapon to restore ten percent of your health when killing an enemy or stun them when you perform a perfect parry.

The Star Of Unbeing

The godlike wields the one-handed Star of Unbeing.

A weapon you won’t come across until you reach the Shatterscarp biome, the Star of Unbeing can be found in the main quest, Shadows of the Past. When going through the first trial in Naku Kubel, you’ll find this weapon randomly lying on a stone table waiting for you to pick it up.

This menacing-looking, one-handed mace may be quite slow to wield, but it packs a heavy punch. After every successful Special Attack, the mace will unleash the Pull of Eora spell (which is a standalone spell you can wield), which allows you to create a vortex that yanks enemies towards it.

7

Ondra’s Offense

The Ondra's Offense blade in Avowed.

Upon finding your first starmetal fragment, you’ll be able to unlock a slew of new weapons that Forgemaster Dela in Solace Keep can help create for you. You’ll be given two choices, whether you want Dela to create a blade or an arquebus.

If you choose the blade, you’ll first get a Meteor Blade. You can upgrade this blade into Ondra’s Offense once you find another starmetal fragment. You’ll be able to deal frost damage much quicker, as well as mete out greater physical damage than the Meteor Blade.

6

Storm-Sworn

The Storm-sworn bow in action.

Storm-sworn is an amazing bow you can find in Leviathan’s Hollow in the northwestern region of Shatterscarp. There’ll be an easily missable area outside the dungeon’s entrance where you’ll find a puzzle door. Once you find all three switches and power them up, you’ll find the Storm-sworn bow waiting for you.

Here’s every companion and their voice actor in Avowed!

Efficient and powerful, this bow has a Shocking Lash ability, allowing you to deal 10% additional shock damage to enemies. You can further upgrade its AoE effects by enchanting it back at camp by choosing Lightning Strike or Thunderous Shot. Whatever you choose, you’ll have a great deal of fun using Storm-sworn on a group of enemies.

5

Heavenstrike

The godlike wields Heavenstrike.

If you tell Forgemaster Dela to forge you an arquebus rather than a blade, then you’ll first receive Moonstrike. Moonstrike is an effective weapon, but you can do better by upgrading it with an additional starmetal fragment, and you will get Heavenstrike as a reward.

Like Moonstrike, Heavenstrike deals ten percent frost damage to enemies. The enchantment options still remain the same (between frost accumulation to enemies or damage reduction), but Heavenstrike deals more physical damage and a higher chance of stunning an enemy.

4

Cruel Command

Powering up the Cruel Command wand in Avowed.

Unlike most unique weapons, Cruel Command is a unique wand that you can only obtain by purchasing from Stockkeeper Eberk in the Southern Warden Tower at Galawain’s Tusks. Buying this wand costs a pretty penny (try 58,500 gold coins) but it’s well worth the sudden lightness in your coin purse.

Without the use of a grimoire, Cruel Command deals and builds fire damage to enemies over time and causes a respectable amount of physical damage. The wand has a built-in enchantment, but you can choose between dealing 150 percent stun on enemies or 25 percent damage reduction after performing a successful parry.

3

Izmatl’s Meteoric Apparatus

Like the previous entry, getting this superb gun requires you to purchase it from a trader, specifically Kampeki in Thirdborn. Setting you back 42,768 gold coins, Izmatl’s Meteoric Apparatus deals high stun on enemies and can blow them back while dealing a lot of physical damage.

Opposite to Heavenstrike, this arquebus can deal fire damage and cause fire accumulation to multiple enemies. It’s the perfect weapon to strike your enemies from afar and the best firearm you can find in the game.

2

Hel’s Tongue

Possibly the best two-handed greatsword in Avowed, Hel’s Tongue is found in the Twin Offerings Overlook in the Shatterscarp biome. But good things don’t come easy, since you will need to kill a mini-boss, Xaurip Chief Grithin, and his lackeys to reach the top where the greatsword is located.

Make sure to take on these bounties in Avowed to get some great rewards.

Once that’s done, you’ll not only find an Ancient Memory and a new godlike ability but Hel’s Tongue at the base of a statue. This spectacular weapon allows you to deal both frost and fire damage with every swing of the blade. But you can enchant this blade to deal poison and fire accumulation or choose to earn back 15 percent essence after performing a power attack.

1

Whisper Of Exiles

An exceptional wand found in Shatterscarp in the Great Sand Sea close to the Twin Offerings Overlook, you’ll need to get through a pack of dreamthralls first. Once the dreamthralls have been dealt with, you will have to make sure you have five lockpicks on hand to unlock the chest.

Aside from dealing frost damage, Whisper of Exiles is also packed with the Flight in Autumn enchantment that can result in an AoE frost attack. Of course, you can amp up the effects of this wand on your enchanting table back at any camp. Whisper of Exiles is undoubtedly the best wand in the game, effortlessly taking down enemies with its overpowered charged attacks.
