There are specific Main Missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 that players are going to want to be aware of before they start them so that they know in advance when they should stop progressing and start enjoying the time that they have as Arthur Morgan.
When is the Point of No Return in Red Dead Redemption 2?
The final mission in which Arthur Morgan is playable is in Our Best Selves – a Main Mission in Chapter 6 that comes after My Last Boy. If players start Our Best Selves, it will lead directly into the final mission for Arthur: Red Dead Redemption. This means that the point of no return for Arthur Morgan is in the Chapter 6 mission Our Best Selves, so it’s best to enjoy the time that Arthur Morgan has left by completing missable content, Stranger Missions, and filling out Arthur’s journal with his drawings and written entries.
If players complete Our Best Selves, there is no way to get out of the point of no return, as even if players quit the game, it will put them at the starting cutscene for their final mission, Red Dead Redemption.
What Mission Does Arthur Morgan Get Sick?
Arthur Morgan will transmit tuberculosis from Thomas Downes in the Chapter 2 Mission, Money Lending and Other Sins 3. This mission is not skippable, and even if players avoid it, they will automatically be forced into it before finishing Chapter 2.
Arthur Morgan’s symptoms will begin to show in Chapter 5’s Guarma section, where his eyes will appear more bloodshot and his skin begins to pale. If players want to continue to play as Arthur Morgan before he gets sick, it’s best to stop in Chapter 4 before the Banking, The Old American Art mission.
It is not possible to stop Arthur Morgan from transmitting tuberculosis.
When Does Arthur Morgan Get Diagnosed with TB?
Arthur Morgan is diagnosed with tuberculosis in the Chapter 5 mission, A Fork in the Road. The mission itself starts when players arrive in Saint Denis, and they will soon cough heavily and be tasked with making it to the doctor’s office. Arthur Morgan’s diagnosis from the doctor comes with a few disadvantages throughout the rest of the game:
- Core drain speed is increased by 20%
- Limited benefits from food and drink
- Losing weight with each mission
- A visually sickly appearance for Arthur
