6 Best Rings For A Dexterity Build

6 Best Rings For A Dexterity Build

Summary

  • The Chloranthy Ring increases Stamina recovery in Dark Souls 3, crucial for attacking and dodging.
  • The Ring of Favor provides a balanced increase in three key stats, but requires defeating tough enemies.
  • The Pontiff’s Right Eye boosts Attack Rating for weapons like the Sellsword Twinblades in Dark Souls

Although most Dark Souls 3 players tend to gravitate towards a Strength build, others like Dexterity for the agility that it grants their characters. Some bosses are slow, so speed isn’t an issue, but others have swift attacks that can be much more easily dodged if players are light on their feet while wielding the best Dexterity weapons in the game.

Dark Souls 3: 7 Fastest Bosses

Dark Souls 3 is known for its difficult bosses. However, there are some that also move like lighting. Here are some of the fastest bosses in the game.

Whether players are using their Dexterity builds for PvE or PvP, one thing’s for certain—choosing the right weapons and rings is extremely important to maximize the efficiency of their attacks. Here are some of the best rings for a Dexterity build.

6

Chloranthy Ring

Increased Stamina Recovery For Long Fights

Dark Souls 3 - Chloranthy Ring

Location

Found in the Undead Settlement by jumping on a platform halfway through ascending on the elevator at the tower where the arrow-shooting Giant is

Effect

Raises Stamina recovery by 7 points per second

There’s no denying that Stamina is one of the most important stats that players need in Dark Souls 3, as it’s a critical component for both attacking and dodging incoming attacks. While players can invest souls in Endurance, there are other elements, like the Chloranthy Ring, that can boost their green bar considerably.

This great ring boosts Stamina recovery by 7 points per second, which might not seem like much, but can be the difference between defeating a boss with 1 HP and having to start again at the nearest bonfire. The Chloranthy Ring works great with quick weapons, such as Straight Swords.

5

Ring Of Favor

A Balanced Increase In Various Stats

Dark Souls 3 - Ring of Favor

Location

Guaranteed drop from Sulyvahn’s Beasts near Archdeacon McDonnell

Effect

Increases max HP by 3%, max Stamina by 8.5%, and max Equip Load by 5%

The Ring of Favor is considered by many players to be one of the greatest rings in the game, as it offers a balanced increase in some of the most important stats. However, anything worth the while is typically not easy to get, so to obtain this ring, players will have to defeat the two Sulyvahn Beasts where Archdeacon McDonnell is. The area is hidden behind a secret wall and can be easily missed. To make matters worse, a single Sulyvahn Beast is extremely hard to kill, but players will have to deal with two at the same time.

Dark Souls 3: Every Boss Weak To Frostbite

In Dark Souls 3, bosses have certain weaknesses and resistances to a few status effects. Here are all the bosses that are weak to Frostbite.

Getting the Ring of Favor is completely optional, but if players are willing to tolerate some frustration, their effort will be justly rewarded. Using some of the most overpowered weapons in Dark Souls 3 can make this fight much easier, so anyone interested in taking on the two Sulyvahn Beasts might want to do some research on that.

4

Pontiff’s Right Eye

Ideal For Weapons Like The Sellsword Twinblades

Dark Souls 3 - Pontiff's Right Eye

Location

Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. Players must defeat the Sulyvahn Beast at the bridge upon arriving at this location.

Effect

Boosts Attack Rating as long as attack persists

Irithyll of the Boreal Valley is, without a doubt, one of the most visually deceiving areas in the entirety of Dark Souls 3, as it appears to be this beautiful fairy-tale town, and in reality, it’s a nightmarish place where the difficulty spike is off the charts.

Upon arriving, players will have to cross a bridge. However, they will be abruptly interrupted by a massive Sulyvahn Beast. While it’s not an actual boss, it could easily be classified as one of the hardest enemies in the game—especially because it takes players by surprise. Defeating this beast is mandatory to both progress further into the game and to obtain the Pontiff’s Right Eye Ring.

3

Carthus Milkring

Great For Boosting Dexterity And Making Rolling More Effective

Dark Souls 3 - Carthus Milkring

Location

Catacombs of Carthus, amid a bunch of spirit-containing vases near the room where the giant skeleton ball rolls into

Effect

Grants +3 Dexterity and obscures the wearer while rolling

The Catacombs of Carthus are one of the most complex areas to navigate in the entirety of the game, and it’s also home to some formidable enemies and a few Undead Bone Shards. Fighting the giant skeletons present in this location and dodging the rolling skeleton ball will eventually be justly rewarded with items like the Carthus Milkring, which both boosts Dexterity and obscures the Ashen One as they roll.

This can be a great advantage when dealing with enemies that throw continuous attacks at players, making rolling more efficient and increasing their chances of survival.

2

Prisoner’s Chain

A Fair Trade That Gives Players 15 “Free” Levels

Dark Souls 3 - Prisoner's Chain

Location

Obtained by transposing the Soul of Champion Gundyr

Effect

Adds +5 Vigor, +5 Endurance, and +5 Vitality at the cost of some damage absorption

Dark Souls 3 is a very challenging game, so it would make sense that one of the best rings in the entirety of this title would require players to trade off some of their damage absorption stats for extra levels.

Dark Souls 3: 6 Bosses Weak To Fire

Dark Souls 3 has some interesting status effects players can take advantage of. Here are some bosses in the game that are weak to fire.

The Prisoner’s Chain grants players five extra levels in Vigor, Endurance and Vitality each, which can be very useful during the late stages of the game. To obtain this valuable item, players will first have to defeat Champion Gundyr, who can be found in the hidden Untended Graves area, which can be really easy to miss if players don’t explore the Consumed King’s Garden thoroughly. Champion Gundyr is much tougher than his nerfed version, Iudex Gundyr, so players should not go into his boss fight overly confident. Using some of the best weapons in Dark Souls 3 can go a long way in making the process easier.

1

Hunter’s Ring

A Considerable Boost In Dexterity

Dark Souls 3 - Hunter's Ring

Location

Grand Archives. At the tower with the three Winged Knights before the stairs to the Prince Lothric boss fight

Effect

Increases Dexterity by 5 points

Lastly, there’s the Hunter’s Ring, which increases players’ Dexterity stat by 5 points. This ring is not as useful once the Dexterity soft cap has been reached, but before then, it can be the difference between defeating a formidable boss and dying to it.

Unfortunately, this ring cannot be accessed until the late stages of the game, specifically in the Grand Archives, so there’s a chance that players have already hit their soft cap by the time they reach this area. However, given the considerable increase in Dexterity that it offers, it makes no sense not to use it.
