Where To Find Rime Beetles In Monster Hunter Wilds

Hunting monsters is all fun and games and makes up the bulk of Monster Hunter Wilds, though just as fun is just watching the wildlife live out their lives. As the seasons pass, their behaviours change with this. This doesn’t apply to just the big guys either, but the smallest of endemic life as well.

Every Monster Hunter Game In Chronological Order

Monster Hunter continues to be well and alive after almost two decades. With so many titles, it can be confusing to know how to play them in order.

Samin and Dareel’s feud in cataloging every member of endemic life in the Forbidden Lands continues, with Samin now asking that you capture a Rime Beetle for him. This is a pretty easy one for once, so let’s head out and satisfy our intrepid researcher once again.

How To Start Samin’s Research Report (Cont.)

As per usual, Samin and Dareel are both hanging out in the large tent at the Base Camp back in the Windward Plains. You know, instead of actually being out doing all this research themselves. At least it gives you a good excuse to get out and explore yourself. As always, the map will, inform you when the next quest is available from them.

For this one to unlock, you must have first finished Dareel’s Research Report (Cont.), which itself requires completing the duo of Research Report quests earlier in the game. This quest won’t unlock until you’re approaching the end of the story, so just keep playing until it’s unlocked.

Where To Find A Rime Beetle

Rime Beetles are graciously simple to find, and you will have undoubtedly found one already. Unlike most other members of endemic life you’ve been asked to capture so far, Rime Beetles have items you can use. Their snowballs can be picked up as Slinger Ammo, and as such they are marked on the map.

Because of this, it’s as simple as opening up the map and filtering through your icons until you find one. They can be found everywhere in the Iceshard Cliffs, though you can find plenty of them bundled together in Area 2. Just pick one up and bring it to its new home in the Windward Plains.

If you really want that snowball, you can pick it up and then quickly swap to the Capture Net to catch the Rime Beetle before it skedaddles away.

For now, Samin will be satisfied, though he and Dareel’s requests aren’t quite finished yet.
