Every Monster Hunter Game In Chronological Order
Monster Hunter continues to be well and alive after almost two decades. With so many titles, it can be confusing to know how to play them in order.
And for Dareel’s final request, he wants you to find the one of the smallest creatures in all of the Forbidden Lands. This time, Dareel is seeking out a Gillopod, which is deceptively difficult. So let’s pick up this quest, find some endemic life, and finally put this researcher’s fued to an end.
How To Start Dareel’s Special Research Report
As always, Dareel and Samin are back in the Windward Plains Base Camp, seemingly never leaving to do any research for themselves. Once again, you must have completed both sets of research quests prior to this, the Research Report and Research Report (Cont.) quests. Thankfully, this quest can be picked up immediately after the previous without you needing to progress any further in the story.
The task this time is to find a Gillopod. Except not only is this little creature rather small, they bear a striking resemblance to another endemic lifeform that make it quite easy to get them mixed up.
Where To Find A Gillopod In Monster Hunter Wilds
Gillopods can be found in Wyveria, so you must progress far enough in the post-game for this area to have unlocked again. However, they look almost identical to Pillopods, which are found in both Wyveria and the Iceshard Cliffs. The difference? Pillopods are a more blue or purple shade with black eyes, while Gillopods are more light purple and feature glowing orange-red eyes. Both are flat and tiny though, making them hard to make out if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
Both species are found in the same place, too, which is subterranean. They like to dwell in lower areas, sticking to the wall and mostly out of sight. Travel to Wyveria, Area 7 and head down the slope towards the incubation area. As you reach the end of the slope, you should find a Pillopod and Gillopod on the rubble.
Collect both of these little guys for good measure and head back to Dareel. This is the final quest from him for real this time, and he offers you some Honey and Gloamgrass buds. Now it’s time for Samin’s final request, the one which is the hardest of all by far.
