Monster Hunter has always been known, aside from the great monsters of course, for its wondrous locales. Prepping for a hunt into these areas is half the fun, spending that time eating a meal, getting all your equipment ready, putting together a party and so on. It’s been a staple of the Monster Hunter series from the very beginning.

Monster Hunter Wilds Review: Don’t Think, Just Hunt
Monster Hunter Wilds is a more approachable, if slightly more mindless Monster Hunter.
Until now, of course. With Monster Hunter Wilds, gone is the prep stage, with you being able to jump into a hunt whenever you see a monster, and stop in at any Pop-Up Camp you’ve built. You have to find them first though, and the Iceshard Cliffs are a pretty big area, so let’s go camping.
What Are Pop-Up Camps?
With Wilds wanting you to spend more time in the world, Pop-Up Camps are basically a mini Base Camp. While it lacks the diversity of Base Camp, such as Gemma’s smithing services, it gives you just about anything else you could need, from cooking meals to changing your equipment. After you’ve found a location for a Pop-Up Camp, you can set it up in two different ways:
- Heading to the Support Felyne in change of Pop-Up Camps at each Base Camp and choosing the areas to establish these camps from the locations you’ve discovered.
- By using the portable Camp set-up kit at any location that a Pop-Up Camp can be built, which calls in a pair of Felynes to build it immediately.
If your Pop-Up Camp slots are full, you can only remove old ones to place new ones back at Base Camp.
Of course, monsters dwell these areas as well, and they don’t take too kindly to hunters setting up camp nearby. If a monster spots your camp, they will almost certainly destroy it. So keep this in mind when placing it, which is indicated by the safety level.
How Many Pop-Up Camps Are There In The Iceshard Cliffs?
Every region has quite a few Pop-Up Camps for you to choose from, more than any region lets you have established at once. In the case of the Iceshard Cliffs, there are seven camps for you to find, though many of them are rather tricky to locate, hidden as they are.
On the opposite end of that, most of them are quite safe as well, far from the reach of the dangerous monsters prowling about. Now you just have to find them.
Every Iceshard Cliffs Pop-Up Camp Location
Across the seven Pop-Up Camps in the Iceshard Cliffs, there are only a few you will come across naturally as part of the story hunts. So here’s where to find them all with some helpful directions.
Area 1: Icy Shore
This is the very first camp you will come across, in Area 1. This Pop-Up Camp is made as part of the story when you first enter the Iceshard Cliffs.
Area 6: North
This camp is found in Area 6, at the tail-end in a small alcove. It is located directly opposite of the Base Camp here.
Area 7: Watchtower
This is located in Area 7, though off to side by a small hidden passage that can only be reached by your Seikret. Climb up some vines to reach this camp.
You can also get an overview of the entirety of the Forbidden Lands from here.
Area 15: Upper Corridor
This is located in the interior area of Area 15. There will be a small spiral staircase in the corner you can ascend, with the camp found at the very top.
Area 18: Sinkhole
This is found in Area 18, though requires entering a small passage that leads to a large hole in the ground. Follow this linear path to reach the camp.
Further past the camp is a small gap you can crawl through, leading to rare materials.
Area 19: Floating Rock Wall
This is located right in the middle of Area 19 on one of the floating rocks. It’s pretty hard to miss.
Area 20: Ancient Room
This camp is found in Area 20, right after jumping through the large hole outside of Base Camp. It even has a spot for fishing. You will naturally come across this spot as part of the story when visiting Rove in his small home through here.
