As reported by Wargamer, The Horus Heresy RPG was just announced on the Warhammer Community website. Here, it’s revealed that you’ll play as one of the Space Marine Legionary Consuls, while also making a secondary character to support you.

The Warhammer: The Horus Heresy tabletop game is being developed by Cubicle 7. In its announcement, we get a brief overview of the premise.

The game opens with the infamous betrayal at Isstvan, after which you’re thrown straight into the maelstrom as Legionary Consuls leading a rag-tag warfleet bent on survival and vengeance.

Your first priority is to escape, harried by traitors bent on your destruction. But what then? How will you survive and regroup? How do you overcome the shock of betrayal and keep your forces supplied? Perhaps most importantly – who can you trust?

We’ll have to wait for more details, but fans will already be familiar with the lore behind the Horus Heresy. The story takes place 10,000 years before Warhammer, with a series of books chronicling the events of this period. The first was published all the way back in 2006, with the finale wrapping up the story in 2024.

Cubicle 7 has plenty of experience publishing Warhammer 40k releases, so this is nothing new for the company. It isn’t giving us a specific release date yet, but the community post says that it is “expected” in Spring of 2026, so we have a little over a year to wait, it seems.
