When it comes to exploring the massive Palpagos Island in Palworld, you will need to speed up the process as much as you can, since some places can be quite hard to reach. Fortunately, you can rely on some of your pals to reach the unreachable, as they assist you as mounts.

Some of the best ground mounts in the game, like Direhowl, can be found very early, but in the case of Legendary Pals like Paladius, it will require grinding, preparation, and patience. Here we’ll tell you everything about the fastest ground mounts in the game.

Direhowl

A Great Starter

After you take your first steps into the game, you’ll be able to find Direhowl

, a Neutral-type Pal that can serve as the best possible first mount, with a whopping Sprint Speed stat of 1050. Even though it might not be the strongest Pal in combat, you will still be able to explore a lot of the map riding it.

If you want to capture this Pal, you can find it roaming around the Forgotten Island, Ice Wind Island, Marsh Island, Eastern Wild Island, Seabreeze Archipelago, Bamboo Grove, Twilight Dunes, and part of the Windswept Hills.

Fenglope

You Can Jump

The next best mount you can find is Fenglope

, a powerful Neutral-type pal that sports the same Sprint Speed as Direhowl, but with significantly better battle stats and the ability to double jump, something that will come in handy as you progress into the game.

If you want to catch this Pal, you can find it on the south side of Mount Obsidian, The No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary, or as an Alpha Boss Pal for you to challenge. However, if you want to pick up the pace, you will need to look elsewhere.

Starryon

Dark Horse

If you love exploring the map at night, you definitely need a reliable companion, and you won’t find a better ride than Starryon. This pal increases your movement speed while mounted at night, making it an excellent choice for nighttime travel. While this might be situational, there are plenty of players who enjoy the thrill of the dark.

Starryon was introduced in the Feybreak Island update, and to catch it, head to the lake area in the Frozen Forest, located to the south of the map. Just make sure to go during the night to track it down.

Pyrin/Pyrin Noct

Keeps You Warm

This is where Pyrin

comes into play, and whether you choose to catch its normal or subspecies form, it will still prove to be quite an upgrade, since it sprints at a speed of 1300. Keep in mind, though, that depending on the version you want, you will need to go to different places.

If you want to catch the normal Pyrin, you must head to the east side of Mount Obsidian, but if you want to twist things up and catch a Pyrin Noct

, you must head to either the west or east sides of Mount Obsidian at night, as it will spawn only during that time.

Rayhound

Gotta Go Fast

Now, Rayhound

is an Electric-type Pal that can be used to generate electricity at your base, or (if you have no more options) as a ride, should the need arise. However, if you want it to be faster than a Pyrin, you must invest in upgrading it to the max by using the Pal Essence Condenser

, which will help it achieve a speed of 1380.

If you want to catch this pal, you must head into the south part of the Dessicated Desert region, where you will be able to find it during both day and night. Keep in mind that this region has some extreme temperatures, so you must go properly equipped.

Azurmane

Envoy Of The Thunder God

Azurmane is a new pal introduced with the Feybreak update, recognized as one of the best Electric-types in the game. However, this pal also excels as a ground mount due to its companion skill. It provides a powerful dash that deals damage, covers significant distances, and recovers stamina, allowing for extended travel, which is the main selling point for this pal. With the right passive skills, like Swift and Eternal Engine, Azurmane can rank among the top five ground mounts.

If you want to obtain Azurmane, you can either find it north of the Oculus Gate Tower or breed it using specific pals like Bellanoir and Loupmoon Cryst or Surfent and Faleris Aqua.

Frostallion/Frostallion Noct

Keeps You Cold

We’re now reaching the goal line, and the third-best mount in the game will be hard to get, as it’s Frostallion

If you want to catch this Pal, you must head to the Land Of The Absolute Zero in the Astral Mountains, where you’ll find it ready to fight. And if you want an alternative that can also help you get the next best mount, you can also get Frostallion Noct, its Dark-type subspecies.

The Knight Of The Firmament

Paladius, the Knight Of The Firmament is one of the strongest Legendary Pals that you can find in this game. With an astounding sprint speed of 1400 that will only get higher if you invest Pal Essences into it, it can also triple-jump, further helping you to explore the whole map.

However, as useful as Paladius

can be, chances are that you won’t ride it at all, as you will find it alongside the best ground mount in the game.

Necromus

High Level, High Reward

Necromus

is by far the fastest ground mount that you can get in Palworld, and it will be found on the far northeastern part of the Desecrated Desert, next to Paladius. It sports the highest natural Sprint Speed in the whole game at 1600, and it can double jump, making it extra useful.

Getting to this fight will require a lot of grinding, as you will need to be level 49 to create the mount for this Pal, but all the time you spent reaching that point will be worth it once you get to ride Necromus.
