After making your way to the Solace Keep in Galawain’s Tusks, you’ll meet a lot of NPCs that will offer a side quest for you to do in Avowed. One of these NPCs is Captain Geofri, who’ll tell the players that he’s been filling in for Captain Petru, but no one has heard from him for days. So you’ll have to investigate the disappearance of Captain Petri and possibly get him out of any trouble as part of the Homecoming quest.

Players will meet Lieutenant Fidelio in Avowed, who’ll request the Envoy to find two of his missing rangers near the lake in Missing Rangers quest.

How to Start the Homecoming Quest in Avowed

Players can start the Homecoming quest by entering the Solace Keep in Galawain’s Tusks and speaking to Captain Geofri in Avowed. The Captain will appear hostile at first, but after offering your help, he’ll become friendly. Captain Geofri will ask the Envoy to talk to Mina, who might know the whereabouts of Captain Petru.

Mina suggests that Captain Petru didn’t just get up and leave the Solace Keep. Something must have happened to him, and the Envoy should head towards the Abandoned Warden Tower to look for any signs of him.

Investigate the Abandoned Warden Tower

After reaching the tower, head inside through a hole in the back. Before completing the main objective here, first head into the basement and eliminate any Xaurips in your way. In a room, you’ll find the Twisted Iron Key

. Now, head to the upper levels of the warden tower, and you’ll come across a locked cell.

It’s recommended that you break the fragile wall to the cell and use the Twisted Iron Key on the chest inside. Inside the chest, you’ll find the Ring of Greater Overseeing

, a unique ring from the Galawain’s Tusks region.

After opening the chest, head to the roof of the tower and interact with the book in front of the ladder to progress through the Homecoming quest in Avowed.

Should You Convince or Fight Jailer Liviu?

Now, head toward the warden outpost in the Ash Forest. Players will be stopped at the entrance by a jailer named Liviu. She’ll demand the Envoy to turn around, but you’ll have to either convince her or fight her to get the key to the prison cell inside.

If you choose to fight her, it’s a relatively straightforward battle, as Liviu doesn’t have a boss-level health bar. So, after making quick work of her and the rest of the jailers, you’ll get the Ash Forest Outpost Jail Key

from her body.

Regardless of your decision, you’ll head inside the outpost and meet Petru, who’s been imprisoned. If you don’t have the key yet, you’ll need to head back outside after meeting Petru and ask Liviu to hand over the keys to you. However, if you’ve fought Liviu, you’ll already have the key on you.

So, you’ll need to make a decision here whether to free Petru or keep him in prison. The best choice here is to simply set Petru free, and you’ll receive Ninagauth’s Gruesome Grasp

, a unique set of gloves. Whether you free Petru or keep him imprisoned, the Homecoming quest in Avowed will be marked as complete.
