Ichi the Witch has taken the manga industry by storm. When the manga came out, no one expected it to perform as well as it did. Ichi the Witch even received endorsements from Horikoshi Kohei and Tatsuki Fujimoto, two of the biggest names in the manga industry.
The manga’s own quality, along with the recommendation by two living legends, worked wonders for Ichi the Witch’s popularity. This became evident when the first volume of Ichi of the Witch was sold out in several stores. So, Shueisha had to order a reprint not once but twice.

Ichi the Witch Volume 2 Release Date Has Been Confirmed
- Volume 2 release date has been confirmed
- The manga is also entering a new arc
Not long afterward, Ichi the Witch revealed the cover for the second volume, which featured Desscaras. The second volume of the manga is scheduled for release on March 4, 2025.
Those who are up-to-date with Ichi the Witch know that the manga is starting a new arc soon. In order to build more hype for the upcoming arc, Shonen Jump has decided to give Ichi the Witch the cover and lead color page in the 15/2025 issue. This proves that the Weekly Shonen Jump is aware of Ichi the Witch’s potential, and it’s trying its best to ensure that more people start reading it.
Additionally, the chapter featured in issue 15/2025 of the Weekly Shonen Jump will have five color pages. Once again, this shows the people involved in the manga are not being wasteful, and doing their best to build on the momentum while the wind is still in their sails.
Ichi the Witch creators, Osamu Nishi and Shiro Usazaki, were interviewed by Shonen Jump+. The two were asked various questions, including their favorite characters. In the interview, Osamu Nishi revealed that he liked Desscaras because of her unpredictability. Shiro Usazaki’s answer was the same, but she also mentioned her fondness for Shirabedonna’s character design.
No other characters feel as “alive” as she does—always acting unpredictably and freely. I enjoy writing for her because she’s almost always up to something strange when she’s on the page. I’m sure she’s doing something bizarre even as we speak. —Osamu Nishi
Osamu Nishi also spoke about his inspiration for Ichi the Witch. He disclosed that Pokemon and Cardcaptor Sakura were his inspirations and how he added elements from the two series.
Ichi the Witch has yet to announce an anime adaptation, which is understandable considering it has released less than 40 chapters. However, it shouldn’t be too long before an announcement is made.
