Elbaf will be a huge challenge for both Zoro and Sanji. The Wings of the future pirate king will have to show off in One Piece.
Usually, these three are among the strongest fighters in the Straw Hat Pirates and they’re the ones who take care of powerful enemies in combat. Naturally, in Elbaf, where Oda has already established some very powerful enemies for the Straw Hat Pirates to take down, the Monster Trio will shine, and this means Sanji will have his own incredible fight ahead of himself that he will have to excel in.
The Arrival of The Holy Knights In Elbaf
- Shamrock And Gunko Arrived First
- Two More Joined In After
At the beginning of the Elbaf arc of One Piece, fans had no idea what fights they’d have ahead of them, especially because the antagonists of the arc weren’t even clear. Nobody knew who Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates would fight in Elbaf, and this was especially the case because the Giant Warrior Pirates were actually allies of the crew, while the New Giant Warrior Pirates were the subordinates of Luffy and the Straw Hats. As such, it almost felt like there was no opposing force against them in the arc at the beginning. However, that changed quickly with One Piece chapter 1130, as the Celestial Dragons finally made their move. Two of the Holy Knights showed up in Elbaf all of a sudden, and they spawned inside Aurust Castle.

Their goal wasn’t quite clear at the beginning of the arc, but eventually, it was quite clear that they were seeking the take Elbaf under control. The Holy Knights seemed to have a plan ahead of them as well. They first went to Loki, the Prince of Elbaf, and offered him a position within the ranks of the Holy Knights. If accepted, Loki would become a Celestial Dragon and have absolute power of the World Government behind him. More than that, Loki would be the king of Elbaf, and with that, he would then go on to out the country in ten palms of the World Government. However, that clearly didn’t happen for multiple reasons, the biggest of which was that Loki wasn’t interested in joining the Holy Knights at all. To him, the Celestial Dragons are despicable, which meant that no matter what, he wasn’t going to shake hands with them.
As the plan of the Holy Knights failed, they decided to call in two more, switching their strategy to a different kind of takeover. Shamrock Figarland and Gunko called upon one more Holy Knight, but two showed up instead. The reason for this was Shamrock being requested to appear back in Marijoa. Shamrock is quite powerful and he also serves as the Comnander of the Holy Knights. As such, when the World Government are facing unprecedented pressure from the likes of the Revolutionary Army, it is only natural for Shamrock Figarland to be called upon. As Shamrock heads back, the other three Holy Knights have an exciting job at hand, and that is to use their powers to kidnap the children of Elbaf and then take them back to the Holy Land, which means that the Straw Hat Pirates will inevitably have to come up against them at some point, and that Sanji will have a massive fight ahead to look forward to.
Sanji’s First Fight In Elbaf
Sanji Could Fight Loki Alongside Luffy and Zoro
Sanji will not fight just one battle in Elbaf, and it goes without saying that there’s more to come from him. Elbaf has been great for him so far, but fight-wise, Sanji has more to offer. Usually, all the Straw Hat Pirates engage in small skirmishes throughout the arc on multiple occasions.
In Elbaf, things will definitely be the same. As things stand, Sanji is at the banquet with the rest of the Straw Hats, which means that he will soon move. If Luffy and Zoro come back to the banquet with the key to free him, then, perhaps Sanji could head back with him to the Underworld when they decide to free him. If that’s the case, then it is highly likely that the three strongest members of the Straw Hat Pirates, that is, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, will engage in combat with the monster that lies in the Underworld, Loki.
I’ve already accepted my fate. I’m not the same person you fought under the dome. — Sanji

Of course, it is only a matter of chapters before Loki is officially set free, which means that he will soon show his power. At the same time, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji could potentially utilize their immense powers to put a stop to Loki and his monstrous might. It must be said that Loki has been hyped up as a monster capable of destroying the world, and for such a threat, Oda most definitely needs to bring forth the strongest of the crew. This means Sanji could join in on this fight and show off against the Accursed Prince.
Why Sanji Could Fight Saint Killingham Next
Sanji vs Killingham Could Be The Inevitable Fight
While the battle against Loki could be a team effort, the Straw Hat Pirates will most definitely fight their own battles as well. For Luffy, the fight could be against Shamrock if he decides to stay behind in Elbaf. For Zoro, the fight could be against Sommers. For Sanji, it seems that Saint Killingham Rimoshifu will be the main enemy. For one, Killingham is most likely an aerial fighter, which makes him perfect for Sanji. Similarly, Sommers is a swordsman, which is why he will most likely fight Zoro.
Sanji cannot fight Gunko, which means that Killingham will be the only one left for him to take on in combat. Killingham is extremely strong, given that he’s a Holy Knight, and at the same time, has the power of an Awakened Mythical Zoan of the Kirin. Given that all Holy Knights seem to be strong enough to hold off against the likes of Loki, they should be closer to Admiral level, if not higher. This would then give Sanji a chance to engage in combat against his strongest enemy so far, and fans would absolutely relish that. The Wings of the Pirate King will emerge out of this arc as monsters strong enough to fight Yonko on their own, and their bounties will definitely shoot up might higher.
