Monster Hunter Wilds Hits Over 1 Million Concurrent Players On Launch Day

Monster Hunter Wilds is off to a record-breaking start on Steam, as it’s already managed to reach more than one million concurrent players as of the time of writing.

From the moment Capcom announced Monster Hunter Wilds for a 2025 release, one thing was very clear – it was going to be one of the biggest launches of the year. That’s looked more and more like the case since the open beta achieved massive numbers and the reviews came out looking even more positive than you might have expected.

Monster Hunter Wilds Being More Approachable Is Exactly What I Need

But maybe not what the series needs.

Today marks the official launch of Monster Hunter Wilds and it’s quickly become apparent just how massive it’s really going to be. We already reported earlier that Wilds had cemented itself in the Steam Top 10 hours after it launched, and it’s just managed to reach its first incredibly impressive milestone.

Monster Hunter Wilds Already Has More Than 1 Million Players On Steam

Monster Hunter Wilds’ Steam numbers have been steadily rising throughout the day but, as reported by Genki_JPN over on Twitter, they’ve just hit a new high. As of the time of writing, SteamDB confirms Monster Hunter Wilds has more than one million concurrent players on Steam, with the number currently sitting at 1,110,210. Sheesh.

It’s worth noting that magical one million represents just one of the platforms for Monster Hunter Wilds, so it’s bound to be hitting even bigger heights when you consider Xbox and PlayStation.

That probably shouldn’t come as a big surprise considering how massive Monster Hunter World and Rise both were for Capcom, but that number being reached is still a big moment. Not only is it the first Capcom game to ever reach one million concurrent players on Steam, but it’s also the eighth game ever to hit that milestone.

Considering the fact that we’re only halfway into the launch day (in the UK at least), it seems very likely that we’re going to see that number grow as the day goes on. I’m not saying two million is definitely happening or anything, but it does seem more likely when you keep all of that n mind.
