How to Steal the German’s Treasure in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

How to Steal the German's Treasure in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The chain of short tasks involving Chenyek and his guild in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a greaty way for aspiring thieves to earn money, but tasks like The German’s Treasure might be a little confusing, especially since the game does not hold the players’ hands when it comes to questing.

After you complete the Beyond the Grave task in KCD2, Rat’s next job for you will involve one of the local innkeepers and their rumored treasure. This is a lot easier said than done, though, as getting to the German’s treasure is going to involve a fair bit of work.

How to Enter the Tavern Basement in The German’s Treasure Quest

KCD2 German's Treasure Innkeeper

Rat will tell you to steal the treasure of innkeeper Beikovetz in Kuttenberg’s Italian quarter. The treasure is in the inn’s basement, and getting to it is going to be tricky since there will always be people around the basement’s entrance, so picking the lock is going to be nearly impossible. However, if you know how to pickpocket in KCD2, you can steal the keys from the innkeeper himself.

The basement door is right next to the kitchen on the first floor of the inn.

Kuttenberg Underground Route

At night, you can take an alternative route via the Kuttenberg Underground entrance, which you can find a little southeast of the southwestern entrance to the city. Refer to the map above, and you should be able to find a small entrance if you look at your own map. The underground entrance is next to a ruined tower.

Keep to the right, and once you reach the Wasteyard POI, climb the nearby ladder, then follow the path directly in front of you. This leads to the inn’s basement, where you can find several miners sleeping.

Where to Find the German’s Treasure

There are five quest-related items that you can steal here:

  1. A Bloodied Wedding Dress inside a locked chest near a miner’s bed in one corner of the basement.
  2. An Old Painted Statuette in another locked chest in the big room next to the previous one.
  3. An Old Rusty Sword and two maps are hidden behind a loose wall next to the previous chest.

Either steal all the items or just take the ones hidden behind the wall. Once you’ve looted everything you want, leave via the underground tunnel or through the main cellar door. Just make sure not to get caught.

KCD2 German's Treasure Helga

After raiding the cellar, go to Innkeeper Helga, the trafficker Rat mentioned earlier. She’ll be at her inn west of Kuttenberg. Talk to her, and tell her that you’re looking for a big-eyed monkey. Helga will then say that all the items you picked up are worthless, but if you pass a Persuasion check, she’ll buy them from you regardless. What Helga won’t take are the two maps from behind the wall. Make good use of them.
