How To Add Friends In Monster Hunter Wilds

To send a friend an invite and add them to your Hunter Friends list, Monster Hunter Wilds players must first find their unique Hunter ID. Your Monster Hunter Wilds Hunter ID can be found in your Hunter Profile under the ‘Info’ tab of the menu.

Then, press in the right analog stick to see your Hunter ID displayed below your character’s name.

Share your Hunter IDs, then tab over to the ‘Member List’ menu under the ‘Communication’ tab. In the menu that pops up, open the furthest right tab labeled ‘Hunter ID Search’.

Enter your friend’s Hunter ID and it should bring up their character’s name. Highlight their name, then open the sub-menu and select ‘Send Friend Request’ to add them to your Hunter Friends group.

To play with friends, you must have unlocked Multiplayer Lobbies, or you will be hit with an error code upon trying to join a friend’s Link Party. Progress through the intro to unlock Lobbies after you talk to everyone in camp and find your personal tent.

Then, to play with friends, Monster Hunter Wilds players simply need to highlight their friend’s name in the Hunter Friend list and select “Invite To Link Party”. If accepted, a Link Party will be created, which streamlines the multiplayer experience in MH Wilds.

In a Link Party, you will be able to embark on co-op Monster Hunter Worlds hunts together and won’t disband after completing any of the game’s quests. The Link Party system serves as the primary way to play Monster Hunter Wilds together with friends.

While in a Link Party, you can still join public groups with people who are not in your Link Party.

Additionally, there is an option to establish an Environment Link after setting up a Link Party. This allows players to play in the same environments, though you cannot invite anyone who is not in your Link Party to an Environmental Link.

Normally in a Link Party you can only see each other if you are on the same quest in the same location. However, in an Environmental Link, you will be able to see each other in the open world areas and complete Field Surveys together. This cannot be enabled while any members are on a quest.

How To Make A Private Lobby In Monster Hunter Wilds

Though you can send a friend request and add others to your Monster Hunter Wilds Hunter Friends list to form a multiplayer group, you can also set up a Private Lobby. To set up a Private Lobby, you must complete the intro scenario, reach the main camp, complete the first mission, and unlock your personal tent within the camp.

After exiting the tent, a message will pop up that says you have unlocked Multiplayer Lobbies. Talk to Alma, then select ‘Open The Quest Board’. Tab to the far right menu on the Quest Board screen to find the ‘Change Lobby Menu’.

  • To create a Private Lobby, Monster Hunter Wilds players must select the ‘Private Lobby’ option, then share the Lobby ID with their friends.
  • To join a Private Lobby, select ‘Lobby Search’ in the Quest Board menu and enter the Lobby ID of your friend’s Private Lobby.
