Monster Hunter: The 12 Biggest Monsters In The Series, Ranked
A major staple of the Monster Hunter series is the inclusion of gigantic beasts for players to defeat, and here is a look at the biggest ones.
One of the ways to quickly improve your hunter is by equipping them with the armorcharm and powercharm. These charms sit in your item pouch and instantly increasing your total attack and defense. If you’re looking for a quick power boost, read on to find out how to get the armorcharm and powercharm in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How To Get The Powercharm
After you’ve completed the main story, you’ll need to continue raising your Hunter Rank until you gain access to Chapter 4-2: Lurking Shadows.
This quest unlocks the Wounded Hollow, a place to fight monsters similar to the arena in Monster Hunter World. Once you complete Lurking Shadows, an NPC in Suja, Peaks of Accord named Cobb will have an optional quest for you called Secure Wounded Hollow. Upon completing this quest, Cobb will reward you with the powercharm.
This quest requires you to hunt two Hirabami at the same time in the Wounded Hollow. The best way to approach this hunt is to focus entirely on one of the Hirabami until it dies, then take out the other one. Using a paintball to mark one of them will help you avoid mixing them up during battle. Don’t forget that you can pull the lever in the center of the arena to raise the gate. This is a great way to get away from one or both of the monsters if you need some breathing room.
Once you’ve completed the quest and earned the powercharm, head straight to your tent and move it into your item pouch. As long as it remains there, it will increase your total strength by a whopping 19 points.
How To Get The Armorcharm
You’ll need to have completed the main campaign, unlocked the Wounded Hollow, and completed Cobb’s Secure The Wounded Hollow optional quest before you can get the armorcharm.
Some time after helping Cobb, another guild member called Rex will have an optional quest for you at Suja, Peaks of Accord. The quest is called As Gatekeepers and involves hunting two Ajarakan in the Wounded Hollow at the same time.
Fighting the Ajarakan twins is significantly harder than the Hirabami duo from the previous quest. It is essential that you make constant use of the center gate to keep them separated, otherwise, you’ll be dealing with a constant barrage of attacks with very few openings to lay down some attacks of your own.
Be especially cautious of Ajarakan’s powerbomb attack, which begins with the monster spinning on the ground before leaping into the air and smashing down on you with meteor-like force. Play defensively and take your time, and you’ll be able to take these brutal apes down eventually.
Upon returning to Rex after completing this quest, you’ll receive the armorcharm. Head directly to your tent and move the armorcharm to your item pouch. As long as you hold this item, your total armor rating will increase by 12.
What About The Armortalon And Powertalon?
During the course of Monster Hunter World you eventually discover a way to upgrade the armorcharm and powercharm into the armortalon and powertalon, which further enhances your offensive and defensive capabilities. If Monster Hunter Wilds has an equivalent upgrade, it has yet to be discovered.
We’ll keep this guide updated in the event that someone finds a way to upgrade these charms into even more powerful items.
