Monster Hunter Wilds takes you on an adventure across the Forbidden Lands, where you discover the mystery behind the White Wraith and its attacks. However, once you finish the main story the game continues, and by unlocking High Rank missions you’ll find out that some old monsters have found their way to this region.

One of the biggest returns in this game is Gore Magala, a grim and powerful dragon that infects everything with its Frenzy Virus. This time its objective will be the Dragontorch that feeds the Forbidden Lands, which can cause a lot of mayhem, and here we’ll tell you all about it.

Best Weapon Damage |
Gore Magala is weakest at its head (even though you can cut its tail and break its wings), so always try to aim for those; however, his attack moves are usually frontal, so keep that in mind. Both Slashing and Bludgeoning damage will do well, but this is a fast monster, so weapons like the Dual Blades, Long Sword, or Sword and Shield are recommended.
On the elemental side, this monster is immune to Water-type damage, but at the same time weak to Fire, Thunder, Dragon, and Blast damage, so you have a lot of options to work with.

While we include the maximum upgrades of each weapon we recommend, remember that any stage of those weapon’s lines will work.
Regarding weapons, Gore Magala has multiple weaknesses, which means you have plenty of options to choose from. Because of that, the Fulgursword Guardiana, the Ajara-Bhadra, the Tonitrus Clairblade, and the Bequeathed Oblivion are some great choices that positively represent those elements.
To defend yourself, however, you have no way to deal with the Frenzy with an elemental Resistance, and instead, you should focus on the best possible skillset for your Hunter. Jin Dahaad’s armor set will serve more than fine, as it makes you impervious to environment debuffs like cold or heat, help you to hit wounds more with Weakness Exploit, and also helps you stay your ground against tremors; the icing on the cake is Agitator, which boosts your Attack and Affinity when the enemy is enraged.
Gore Magala – Fight Breakdown And Moves
Gore Magala is a classic monster; however, this does not mean it’s predictable, so don’t rest on your laurels; this is a fast monster that can also take flight, so it has a wide variety of moves to employ.
First and foremost, you must mind its Frenzy attacks, which can come in the form of ground-level homing attacks, horizontal explosive AoEs, and even projectiles. If you’re hit with one of those, start hitting Gore Magala as much as you can, and you might overcome the virus and have a boost; otherwise, you’ll have your Defense debuffed.
Another thing to remember is that Gore Magala will get enraged, indicated by a change in the lighting of the area and its horns popping out (this is the only moment where you can break those, so don’t waste your chance). And last, this powerful monster loves to take flight and dive bomb on your face, which will probably kill you, so stay on your toes when he does, keep hitting its face when it lands, and you’ll be fine.
