With the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, and fans enjoying the lush new world of the Forbidden Lands, players are wondering just how many chapters the game has?
Luckily, you’re in for a treat, as while the number of chapters seems low, Monster Hunter Wilds has an expansive amount of content that easily makes it a candidate for multiple hundreds of hours of play.

Monster Hunter Wilds: How Many Chapters?
The base game of Monster Hunter Wilds has six chapters, with three of those constituting the ‘main story,’ and the remaining chapters making up the initial post-game high-rank. After Chapter Six, the game enters the full post-game and you have freedom to hunt whatever you want.
This may seem short, but the first three chapters seem to take around 10-20 hours, and the remaining three another 20-80 – depending on how focused you are. The remaining post game (there are monsters to hunt that don’t appear in the main story at all), can push you well into the 100 hour mark.

For those who played Monster Hunter World, you may remember that the initial game of defeating Zorah Magdora and Nergigante was only the beginning.
Similarly, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to get many post-release updates, adding new hunts, new monsters, and loads of additional content. And with any luck, we’ll also see an expansion, similar to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, in the future.
MHW: Iceborne added at least another game and a half on top of the original Monster Hunter World, including adding the Far Lands, a unique post-game location where ultra rare monsters could be hunted. If Monster Hunter Wilds, the spiritual successor to World, follows the same path, we’re in for a lot of Monster Hunting over the next few months and years!
