Genshin Impact has officially revealed the lineup of events set to arrive with the launch of Version 5.4’s second half, teasing both new combat challenges and a fishing-focused event. The release of Genshin Impact‘s newest update whisked players back to the Inazuma region for its main event, featuring the return of fan-favorite characters like Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko. HoYoverse also debuted Inazuma’s newest playable character, with Yumemizuki Mizuki joining the roster as a five-star Anemo support unit. Now, HoYoverse is teasing the next set of events coming with the update’s second half.

Each of Genshin Impact‘s regular updates typically comes with a variety of different events for players to participate in beyond its flagship offerings. Patches often include smaller bonus reward-focused events, like the regularly-occuring “Ley Line Overflow” and “Overflowing Mastery” events. Combat is typically a focus of Genshin Impact‘s smaller events, usually adding daily challenges and granting small Primogem rewards for completion. Fishing, fighting, and more are now set to take center stage with Genshin Impact‘s next events.

Genshin Impact officially unveiled the lineup of new events coming to Version 5.4 on Thursday, teasing three events set to start soon. “Invasive Fish Wrangler” will task players with wrangling up invasive species of fish, likely using the game’s pre-existing fishing system as a basis. “Reel Ad-Venture” looks to be a new combat event with its main thematic designed around a filming set, executing specific scenes and arranging them to different scripts in order to earn Primogems. The second half of Version 5.4 will also feature the return of the “Ley Line Overflow” event, offering double rewards on EXP items and Mora when using the Ley Lines scattered throughout Teyvat.

Genshin Impact‘s newest events will be joined by the return of a popular pair of characters to the RPG’s limited gacha banner. The update’s second half will feature re-runs of both Furina and Wriothesley, allowing players to once again pick up two of Fontaine’s most popular units. Furina has commonly been seen as one of Genshin Impact‘s most powerful Hydro units, pairing excellently as both a sub-DPS and a support unit. Wriothesley, while not as popular as Furina, serves as a niche Cryo DPS unit with a major role in Fontaine’s story.

With Version 5.4 moving into its second half, HoYoverse has already started to give players an idea of what’s coming in the next patch. Version 5.5 will welcome two new characters to the game with the release of Varesa as Genshin Impact‘s newest five-star unit and Iansan as a four-star character. Leaks have also hinted at a new explorable area and several helpful quality-of-life changes coming to the game’s Artifact system. Genshin Impact fans should have plenty to look forward to in Version 5.5 with lots expected to be on the way.
