The first game of the VALORANT Masters Playoffs was between EDward Gaming and T1 was a three-map thriller that kept the fans on their toes. During the match, no team had a proper grip on the game. After the game, players from T1 came to the press conference room not in the happiest mood. The result on the third map affected them greatly.
Talking about it, stax had this to say about what went wrong in the map:
The match itself was winnable. If some of us had given better performances, then we would have definitely won the third map. I have a lot of feedback on my playstyle as well as how I am as an IGL. EDward Gaming has done quite well to understand my strategies, and we will need to be more flexible.
When EDward Gaming was asked about the negative comments they receive on social media due to their performance, ZmjjKK had this to say:
In my perspective, Chichoo played dominantly, as if he had played crazy today. He is really confident, and I really don’t know where he got this confidence. Concerning the comments, I think we cannot be affected by factors outside the server. I do read a lot of comments where people tell me to improve my agent pool and my aim in the game.
EDG Repeats History By Defeating T1
The last time EDward Gaming faced off against T1 was during VALORANT Masters Tokyo in 2023. During that match, EDward Gaming defeated T1 2-0. This match was a three-game spectacle, with EDward Gaming dominating the first map. During the second map, T1 clawed it back and secured the win. On map 3, T1 had the lead for the longest time but sadly couldn’t sustain it. EDward Gaming completed the comeback and secured their post in the upper bracket finals.
The MVP of the match was CHICHOO from EDward Gaming. He ended the game with a KDA of 72/43/28, an ACS of 322, and an ADR of 217. It must be stated that a player to watch out for during this tournament is nobody from EDward Gaming due to him perfecting his use of the agent Tejo.
