The skills are broken down into various different tabs, each focusing on a different part of the golf game. However, there are some that are worth unlocking sooner than others.

Also, what skills to focus on will also be impacted by the archetype you choose for your pro at the beginning of MyCareer, and the stats you’ve improved using VC. If you have high stats in some areas, you may not need the boosts that some skills provide.
Best Skills To Unlock Early
Power Drive
Power Drive is very simple, it makes your shots with drivers fly further before hitting the ground. However, you’ll have to be more precise with your swing pattern to make the most of it.
Bump And Run
Bump and Run is a great option for when you’re short of the green. It sees the ball bounce early and run on, ensuring you’re not over-hitting the shot.
Chip
This skill improves the swing proficiency of your chip shots. Therefore, you’ll make fewer mistakes when you’re around the green.
Make sure you’re using Chip shots on larger greens. Flop or Bump and Run can be used at other times.
Splash
You’ll have access to Splash shots from the beginning of the MyCareer journey, and this skill improves them. You’ll use them when hitting from bunkers around the green, so that they bounce quickly, and this skill will lead to fewer issues.
Chocked Tee Shot
The choked tee shot has a similar impact to top spin drives, but they don’t travel as far. When using the shot type, the ball bounces earlier and runs on. It can be very useful on short par fours or long par threes, which need drivers to hit the green but you don’t want to overshoot.
Tee Shot Contact Proficiency
Finally, the Tee Shot Contact Proficiency skill makes it easier to hit drives straight. It makes the final contact point of your drive more forgiving. Since it’s one of the most challenging parts of the game, you’ll want to unlock it as soon as you can.
There are a couple of tiers to this skill that come one after another in the Tee skill tree. They’re all worth unlocking as soon as possible.
