Hubs have always been a staple of the Monster Hunter series. Taking that time to gather up your party, eat your meals and prep your equipment is a core aspect of the hunt. In Monster Hunter Wilds, that structure is changed somewhat, and Pop-Up Camps are a big part of that disruption.

Monster Hunter Wilds Review: Don’t Think, Just Hunt
Monster Hunter Wilds is a more approachable, if slightly more mindless Monster Hunter.
These Pop-Up Camps, wonderful and spontaneous as they are, can’t be set up just anywhere you like. There are specific locations for them, and the Scarlet Forest has quite a few hiding around the region. So here’s where to find them all and the best ones you should set up.
What Are Pop-Up Camps?
Pop-Up Camps are just like your own tent back at Base camp, just without all the helpfup NPCs. You can eat your meals, restock your inventory, change your equipment, even customise your appearance. You have a little bit of everything here, and Alma will be with you all the way so you don’t miss out on your quests.
There are two ways of setting up Pop-Up Camps, which are:
- Speaking with the respective Felyne at each Base Camp and setting up your Pop-Up Camps in your discovered locations from a menu.
- Using the Pop-Up Camp Kit in the field at the respective locations to call in a team of Felynes to build the camp immediately.
If your slots for a region are full, Pop-Up Camps can only be created back at Base Camp.
Keep in mind that monsters do not take kindly to Pop-Up Camps being established in their domain, and will destroy any they come across. These will be repaired automatically over time, or you can pay Guild Points to have it repaired instantly.
How Many Pop-Up Camps Are There In The Scarlet Forest?
The Scarlet Forest is a big area, and while it doesn’t have quite as many camps as the Windward Plains, it has more than enough for the size of the area. And for how dense the Scarlet Forest is, many of them are hiding in plain sight.
There are a total of ten Pop-Up Camp sites in the Scarlet Forest. Some of them may seem quite close together, but that’s just because the area is so layered. Make sure to pick out your camps carefully so they’re in the places they actually appear to be.
Every Scarlet Forest Pop-Up Camp Location
The Scarlet Forest can be hard to explore due to its density, and that makes finding its many Pop-Up Camp sites that much harder. Here are some directions to help you find each location.
Area 6: Flowering Rocks
Located at the epicentre between Areas 2, 3, and 6, this camp can be found on the Seikret track accessed through Area 6.
Area 7: Bower Of The Great Tree
This camp is found on the path connecting Area 6 and 7. It is unlocked as part of the story when you first enter the Scarlet Forest.
Area 8: Underground Lake
This one is found in the very north of Area 8 by proceeding through the waterfall into a hidden cave.
Area 8: South
This is in the exact opposite location of the previous camp, deep south of Area 8 and much less hidden.
Area 12: Northeast
This is located just to the northeast corner of Area 12, quite close to the path that connects to Area 8.
Area 14: Southwest
This camp is high up in Area 14, along the path leading to the great body of water in Area 17.
Area 16: Ruin Interior
This camp can be found in Area 16, above Area 17, looking over this area.
Area 16: Hidden Waterfall
This camp is also in Area 16, though is located further south and down some slyly hidden paths.
Area 17: Great Lake Shore
This camp is found in Area 17, just below the Ruin Interior camp site.
Area 18: West
This camp is located by the treetops in the very northern edge of Area 18.
