Where To Find Dapperwings In Monster Hunter Wilds

There’s no denying that the large monsters are the main draw of Monster Hunter Wilds. Fighting Rey Dau in a thunderstorm or watching Lala Barina twirl around the forest is tantalising. But the game puts a great emphasis on the smaller life too in the form of endemic life. Small creatures the game has just as painstakingly detailed.

Ever wondered where your favourite Elder Dragon In Monster Hunter came from? Well look no further.

That’s where the Capture Net comes in, letting you gather up as much endemic life as you please for research purposes. And researched they will be, with Samin now asking for some help in cataloging the endemic life of the Scarlet Forest.

How To Start Samin’s Research Report

After helping Dareel back at Base Camp, you might have gotten the feeling you just helped him in a manner you weren’t supposed to. Indeed, though it is far from an illegal act, enlisting the help of a hunter to catalog endemic life for you does give one an unfair advantage over their peers. Having witnessed this, Samin appears to set the record straight.

Which he does by also asking you to gather up endemic life for him. Samin’s Research Report as such can be picked up immediately after completely Dareel’s. You don’t even have to leave the tent. Just talk with Samin to get it started.

Where To Find Dapperwings

Samin tasks you with traveling to the Scarlet Forest and finding a Dapperwing. Just like Dareel, he offers very little in the way of guidance beyond that the creature is somewhere in the entirety of the Scarlet Forest. This time at least, this is somewhat accurate.

The Dapperwing can be found in copious places around the Scarlet Forest, specifically in trees and lower areas near to the Scarlet Forest Base Camp. They are hidden in plain sight, sitting in the branches of the trees above or resting on overturned trees around the forest, typically in large groups. Just pop on the Capture Net and you’re free to catch them. They’re much less skittish than the Tracktail Lizard, too, so they should be easier to capture.

Dapperwings have a more dull colour during the Fallow, and become multicoloured during the Plenty. Keep this in mind when searching for them.

Once again, simply return to Samin as you did with Dareel to complete the quest. For now, you are free from their squabbles and can continue your own story.
