The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke brings back Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy in Season 5 for a reason that has something to do with his son, Homelander.

In a clip uploaded to The Boys’ official account on X, formerly Twitter, Ackles can be seen talking to a camera and addressing Padalecki. “Hey, Jared. We got work to do,…again” Ackles says. The video cuts into Padalecki speaking to the camera, “Okay, I’ll tell Misha. Misha, we got work to do.” Then the video cuts again, showing Misha Collins saying, “Okay,” while smiling and giving a thumbs up. Collins’ upcoming appearance in The Boys has made fans even more excited for the final season. Many were overwhelmed by the number of Supernatural stars joining The Boys.

The announcement also received tons of comments from fans, who approved of the much-awaited reunion. “This is bigger project, I’m loving the whole thing,” Emmanuel Divine commented. “The boys x supernatural. Sign me up,” another fan wrote. A different X user loved how The Boys announced Collins’ casting in the show, saying it was the “best casting announcement ever. Padalecki and Ackles’ reunion was already big news to fans who have been waiting to see them together on screen five years after Supernatural ended. With Collins joining them, the anticipated reunion has gotten even bigger.

The excitement for Ackles, Padalecki and Collins’ reunion in The Boys is expected, especially from Supernatural fans since the show ran for 15 years across 15 seasons. Padalecki and Ackles played the brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, respectively. They are the main protagonists of the series. Collins played Castiel, an angel who joined Supernatural Season 4.
