Summary
- Pokemon has restocked seven popular Mega Evolution plushes to celebrate Pokemon Day.
- Leading the charge are shiny variants of Mega Gengar and Mega Rayquaza.
- A regular Mega Rayquaza plush is also available along with Mega Charizard X, Mega Mewtwo, and more.
The Pokemon Day surprises didn’t begin and end with what there was to show during this morning’s Pokemon Presents. Various merch drops at the Pokemon Center have been made to mark the occasion too. Drops popular enough to bring the site to a grinding halt, including the return of Mega Evolution plushes out of nowhere.
While some of you might have stumbled upon the Pokemon Center banner revealing Mega Evolution plushes are back, Pokemon also published an update on its site sharing the good news. Considering how hard it is right now to simply access the Pokemon Center website, that statement, or maybe even this article, might be how you’re learning about this plush return.

Seven Mega Evolution plushes are currently available at the Pokemon Center to celebrate Pokemon Day, and two of them are shiny – Rayquaza and Gengar. The Shiny Mega Rayquaza is the biggest of the seven available at more than 45 inches long. There’s also a regular Mega Rayquaza plush that will probably sell out a little less quickly which is four inches shorter, so still pretty long. Both are $44.99 each.
Pokemon Has Restocked Seven Mega Evolution Plushes For Pokemon Day
The Site Appears To Have Calmed Down Enough Now That You Can Grab Them
None of the other Mega Evolution plushes are nearly as big as the two Rayquaza. The shiny white Gengar is 13 inches tall and the other four are a similar size, hence them all being quite a bit cheaper at $29.99 each. Joining Rayquaza and Gengar are Mega Blastoise, Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Charizard Y, and my personal favorite, Mega Charizard X. I just prefer my fully evolved Kanto Fire-type with a blue and black color scheme.

Shiny Mega Gengar Poké Plush
Pokemon has not only turned Mega Gengar into a plush, but it’s turned the shiny variant of the well-loved Ghost-type’s Mega Evolution into a Pokemon plush. The plush is 13 inches tall, so a little bigger than a standard plush, as it should be.

Pokemon Shiny Mega Rayquaza Poke Plush
What’s better than Rayquaza? Shiny Rayquaza. What’s better than Shiny Rayquaza? Mega Shiny Rayquaza. A plush version of the ultimate version of the Dual-type Legendary Pokemon, and its more than 45 inches long.
Even though the Pokemon Center is still pretty jammed up at the time of typing this, those of you hoping to bag a Mega Evolution plush or
two hopefully don’t need to worry about them selling out immediately. While they will be in high demand, and I wouldn’t wait too long to try and buy one if you want one, the main cause of the traffic at the Pokemon Center right now is the newly added Eeveelution plush bundles.
Pokemon decided to continue celebrating the Year of Eevee by adding plush bundles that include Prismatic Evolutions mini tins. The TCG’s expansion continues to be so popular that even a mini tin that’s part of a larger $45 bundle has Pokemon fans scrambling. I’m assuming those bundles are already gone, but hopefully you’ve seen this in time to grab a Mega Evolution plush.
