Pokemon GO Reveals New Might and Mastery Season

Summary

  • Pokemon GO’s next season, Might and Mastery, starts on March 4 and ends June 3, providing players with new adventures.
  • Pokemon Day 2025 showcased upcoming games, including Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
  • The current lack of details about Might and Mastery less than a week before launch has left fans frustrated.

Pokemon GO has revealed its next season’s official name, Might and Mastery, as well as the season’s start and end date. Players will be able to dive into Pokemon GO Might and Mastery beginning on March 4, and the season will carry on almost all the way up to summer, ending on June 3.

The Pokemon Day 2025 livestream event was held on February 27. Hosted annually, this year’s showcase celebrated 29 years since the initial launch of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan, and it provided a lot of information on upcoming games and events, including revealing the surprising starters for Pokemon Legends: Z-A in the form of Chikorita, Totodile, and Tepig.

One big announcement in the Pokemon world that was just barely mentioned in the showcase was the upcoming launch of Might and Mastery, the next season of Pokemon GO that had its name leaked a day before the presentation. However, the official Pokemon GO Twitter page quickly filled in a little bit of that gap in coverage, posting a somewhat cryptic message that asks its fans to speculate on what new adventures will await them. The upcoming season begins in less than a week, and there’s still not a lot of information about what it will entail, aside from the inclusion of Kubfu and Urshifu, but a 15-second-long video attached to the social media post may include a few hints, showing off Team Rocket Balloons and Poke Stops, a silhouetted Audino standing outside a Gym, and a Dynamax Kubfu towering over a city.

Pokemon GO Might and Mastery Start and End Dates

While Might and Mastery was only glossed over in the Pokemon Presents showcase, with its dates appearing onscreen for only about four seconds, the livestream event did touch on an event coming even sooner. The Pokemon GO Tour: Unova – Global will be taking place just ahead of Might and Master’s launch, running from March 1-2. The event, which can be accessed from anywhere in the world, will feature Black Kyurem and White Kyurem appearing in Raid Battles and other locations, and players will also be able to pick up Shiny Aria Forme Meloetta through Masterwork Research and Victini with the Tour Pass Deluxe.

Many fans responding to the Twitter post seem annoyed at the lack of details released about Might and Mastery with its launch coming up in just five days. By comparison, big details on Pokemon GO’s Dual Destiny, its current season, were released a full week ahead of the season’s start date, including the returns of Hoopa, Reshiram, and Zekrom; debuting Pokemon Sinestea and Polteageist, breakthrough rewards, Max Battle Pokemon, and more.
