Oda Has Already Confirmed Sanji Will Get Conqueror’s Haki 

The Elbaf arc of One Piece is absolutely massive for the Straw Hat Pirates, and fans know that the best is yet to come. While it goes without saying that the crew will show great growth in this arc and emerge out of this country stronger than ever before, there is more that this arc can do for them, and that is to set them up on the path of greatness. Oda can grant many exciting power-ups to them, but he can also just set the basis for some other powers for them to attain, which can then happen at some point later down the line.

When it comes to the Roger Pirates, fans know that they were a pirate crew that the Straw Hats aspire to be like. The Captain of the Roger Pirates, Gol D. Roger, went on to become the Pirate King, and he had two powerful subordinates who especially helped him get there. They were Rayleigh and Scopper Gaban. In the Elbaf arc, fans finally got to see Scopper Gaban in the story for the first time. Here, it was also revealed to the fans that Scopper Gaban was a monstrously powerful pirate whose strength was great enough to see him get put on the same level as the likes of Roger and Rayleigh. Gaban is considered to be a living legend, and that’s what makes all this so interesting. Gaban rivaled Rayleigh himself, and at the same time, his strength is on the same tier as Roger, Garp, Sengoku, and the other legends of the One Piece world. This is quite interesting, because fans know that the Straw Hat Pirates have a very similar dynamic as well, and it is that of the Monster Trio.

Just like there were two other monsters aside from Roger in the Roger Pirates, there are two other monsters in the Straw Hat Pirates aside from Luffy. These are Zoro and Sanji, and fans haven’t known that for years upon years. Zoro and Sanji have always been close, no matter how much the fans fight against each other over who the stronger one is, it is an indisputable fact that they’re on the same level. At the same time, Zoro and Sanji are also comparable to Luffy in general, although they might not be there yet. When they’re at the peak of their powers, they will be in the same tier, as was the case with the Roger Pirates.

Regardless, what’s clear to see is that Scopper Gaban, the left-hand of the Pirate King, was Roger’s Sanji, and his powers are quite interesting to look at. Gaban’s biggest power, much to the surprise of some fans, was Conqueror’s Haki, as was shown in the manga recently. When Scopper Gaban fought against Luffy, he displayed his amazing Haki when he coated the key in Conqueror’s Haki. This was evident from the fact that there was black lightning emerging from the blade, and at the same time, a crackling sound effect which is associated with Conqueror’s Haki. Although the attack itself wasn’t named, it became immediately clear that Gaban was a user of Conqueror’s Haki, not that there should’ve been any doubt. Gaban being in the same tier as Roger and Rayleigh simply meant that he needed to have a powerful weapon, especially since he didn’t have a Devil Fruit. Naturally, this weapon is Supreme King Haki.

If Gaban Had Conqueror’s Haki, So Will Sanji

Given that Oda has already drawn a parallel between the Minster Trio and the three strongest of the Roger Pirates, it is no surprise to know that they’ll mirror each other in terms of what powers they attain as well. For instance, Luffy will go on to reach Roger’s level in the future, and that’s a fact. Similarly, Zoro, just like Rayleigh, got Conqueror’s Haki, and he will eventually go on to surpass Rayleigh in terms of power. Just like them, Sanji too will be similar to Gaban. The two are already very similar. Gaban used to keep Roger’s instincts in check, and Sanji does that quite often. Gaban is known to be the minister of love, and Sanji is said to have the power of love.

Even Luffy himself said that Sanji will be like Gaban when he grows older. Clearly, if Gaban had Conqueror’s Haki, then Sanji will go on to gain Conqueror’s Haki as well, and that’s already inevitable.

The Roger Pirates were mighty, and they’re clearly considered to be the greatest pirate crew to sail the seas of the One Piece world. The Straw Hat Pirates absolutely have to surpass them, no matter what. Whatever level the Roger Pirates were at, the Straw Hat Pirates will have to go one step beyond, and that’s why their portrayal must be even better. The strongest trio of the Straw Hat Pirates must be stronger than that of the Roger Pirates. As such, both Zoro and Sanji are destined to go beyond the level of the Yonko in the One Piece world.

Does Sanji Absolutely Need Conqueror’s Haki?

Conqueror’s Haki Isn’t Necessary, But Likely

Sanji getting the power of Conqueror’s Haki isn’t absolutely necessary for his character. After all, he’s still very strong and he’s only going to get stronger from here on out. Sanji has the power of science and he can go far with it, especially after Vegapunk said that his Seraphim, which are scientific creations, are the strongest form of humanity. Clearly, there is a premise for Sanji to grow stronger, and without Conqueror’s Haki, Sanji will be in the same league as Luffy and Zoro. However, at this point, it seems that Sanji getting Conqueror’s Haki is inevitable, especially based on how Oda has been setting it up slowly. It is only a matter of time before it happens, although it won’t likely happen in Elbaf, as Ifrit Jambe is still rather new. But, in the future, Sanji getting Conqueror’s Haki is something that fans should keep an eye on.
