Old Lady At Crossroads
A Simple Question, A Vanishing Act
When you think of an old lady, you probably imagine a sweet, kind, and loving person. There are many urban myths featuring old ladies, but these stories might shatter that image. The Old Lady at Crossroads doesn’t appear to just anyone—she only shows up as the sun sets. The most terrifying part? She targets children.
She approaches and asks for their name, and if they answer, she abducts them into the fourth dimension. But what’s even more terrifying than the old lady is the unknown horrors that await. According to a journal entry, there is even a version that appears at four PM and abducts people without asking a question!

Satoru
The Answer You Seek May Be Your Last
Humans are naturally curious beings. From the moment we are born, we have an innate urge to explore and a need to ask questions. With advancing technology, we can now get instant answers from AI. But what if there was an urban myth that could answer all your questions?
Satoru can provide answers even to impossible questions—but summoning him comes with strict conditions. You cannot use your own phone, and you must recite specific phrases to summon him. Once you do, Satoru will appear right behind you. That’s even more terrifying than AI, isn’t it? What’s worse is that if you fail to ask him a question, he will kill the one who summoned him.

Life-Sucking Doll
Not All Dolls Are Meant For Play
This urban myth is terrifying and usually targets women. Imagine you find a doll while doing household chores. It seems like an insignificant detail, so you ignore it. Later, you notice your health deteriorating; problems that start with headaches slowly lead to a disaster. A series of unfortunate events bring you closer to death, and all of this is because of the Life-Sucking Doll.
But what if we told you there’s a solution? According to the journal entry in the game, countering this urban myth requires a porcelain doll. If you have one, the curse will transfer to the porcelain doll, and it will crack, bearing the consequences in your place.

Kotori-boko
A Single Curse, An Entire Family’s End
Are you ready to hear a more terrifying Urban Myth? This one doesn’t just aim to kill—it seeks to annihilate your entire bloodline! The cursed box, Kotori-boko, is the main subject of the fourth episode of Urban Myth Dissolution Center. According to the journal, it targets women and children, gradually wiping out your family until no one is left, eradicating your entire lineage.
Losing loved ones, losing family members—it’s a thought too dreadful to even utter. You should never want to hear the name of this box. What’s even more terrifying is that the box contains children’s fingers, and asking why sends a chill down your spine! Filled with pure hatred and evil, this box is like Pandora’s, but only disaster and death emerge.

Fake Policemen
A Question Before the Crime Begins
The police officers maintain peace and prevent chaos for public welfare. However, it’s not unreasonable to verify a police officer’s identity. This urban myth isn’t supernatural—it’s about a criminal disguised as a police officer who commits murder. Before the crime, the imposter asks if anyone has seen anything unusual or suspicious.

Urban Myth Dissolution Center: Episode Three Walkthrough
Lost in the unknown, the truth is waiting to be discovered.
The reason for these questions is to gauge whether anyone might suspect the upcoming crime. Not everything is as it seems; the one who upholds justice may commit the greatest injustice, or the one who appears the best may be the worst. It’s best to be cautious, but living in suspicion can drive you to paranoia.

Bloody Mary
Three Words, One Nightmare
Unlike other urban myths, this one is quite well-known and has been featured in films and games: Bloody Mary. You probably know how to summon her; stare into a mirror and say “Bloody Mary” three times. Of course, just doing this isn’t enough; you need to follow additional steps to summon her properly. But why would you want to summon this bloodthirsty ghost?
Or why do characters in movies summon her if she’s so terrifying? She’s not like the friendly ghost Casper; her only goal is to harm or kill you. If you’re more curious about Bloody Mary, the second episode of the game focuses on her.

Kaiba Ichiran
Do The Dead Have Their Own Internet?
This urban myth is entirely filled with mystery, which is why it greatly sparks people’s curiosity. The only known fact about this urban myth is that when you search it online, you receive responses from deceased people. But is this done to deceive you? Or are these responses from individuals who actually lived and have passed away?
Do we all become potential Kaiba Ichirans after we die? There’s no real way to find out; perhaps writing Kaiba Ichiran could ask someone from the other side, but talking to the dead is a chilling thought!
3
Doppelganger
The Last Thing You Want To Meet Is You
This urban myth is featured in the game’s fifth episode. To avoid spoiling the excitement of the case you will experience while researching it in the game, let’s focus on the journal entry and the term “doppelganger.” A doppelganger looks exactly like you on the outside; but could their thoughts and actions be the same as yours? Do they share the same memories as you?
Do they know your parents? There are many questions to ask, but the last thing you’d want is to encounter your doppelganger and ask them these questions. In fact, it’s best to avoid meeting them at all. In most films and fictional works, encountering a doppelganger leads to a paradox, and the outcomes are usually not good.
2
Reptilians
They’re Hiding In Plain Sight
Conspiracy theories are fueled by nothing other than social media. Fake news, fake images — all of these things feed into them. One of the most well-known conspiracy theories is related to lizard people, or reptilians. The journal entry is actually quite similar to the reptilian theories we’re familiar with. It’s said that reptilians hide among humans to control and conquer.

To spot a reptilian, things like wrinkles on their necks or abnormal eye blinking could give them away. Still, theories involving reptilians are terrifying; the idea that historical figures and current political figures are reptilians with the goal of invasion is pretty unsettling. If you own a pet lizard, we hope it doesn’t evolve into a reptilian one day!

Kaijin Answer
Ten Phones, One Fate
This urban myth could be the subject of games and movies. This entity, consisting of just a head, is in search of a body. To summon it, you need ten phones. You must create a loop by calling the second phone with the first, the third with the second, and so on, until the tenth calls the first. When Kaijin Answer is summoned, it answers questions from nine of the ten people involved.
However, the terrifying part is that Kaijin Answer asks one person a question. If they cannot answer, Kaijin Answer steals their body. Could the person whose body was stolen live on as just a head, eventually becoming the next Kaijin Answer?
