- More content is on the way for Monster Hunter Wilds.
With just one day left before the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has revealed more details about the upcoming Free Title Update, including the arrival of a “formidable” new monster. The company had already announced plans to bring additional content to the game after its release, but it wasn’t clear what it would include apart from the return of the Mizutsune. Now Monster Hunter Wilds fans have a bit more clarity on what’s coming.
Capcom first announced Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Free Title Update on February 12, teasing the Mizutsune and saying the content would arrive sometime in Spring 2025. That trailer also said players could expect “additional updates” and event quests but didn’t specify what these were. Thankfully, the wait to learn more didn’t turn out to be too long, as the devs have already cleared some things up before launching the game in full.

Monster Hunter Wilds Physical Copies Come With A Catch
Capcom announces that players who buy a physical copy of Monster Hunter Wilds may be in for a bit of a surprise when they boot up the game.
The official Monster Hunter Wilds Steam page dug deeper into Title Update 1 in a February 27 announcement. The biggest piece of news is that the free content will arrive in early April of this year, so while there still isn’t a specific date, the release timeline is narrowing. Capcom also mentioned the update would bring a new monster at a strength level above Tempered. For the uninitiated, Tempered monsters are harder versions of the game’s enemies, so a level above this means these beasts could be some of the game’s most challenging. Some early reviews had accused Monster Hunter Wilds of being too easy, so this could be a move to address that.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 Adds More Difficult Monsters, New Gathering Place
The announcement also mentioned “another challenging monster” apart from the new difficulty level, but this could refer to the previously announced Mizutsune. Beyond the changes to the game’s enemies, Title Update 1 will include a multiplayer gathering hub. This will serve as a place for players to meet up with friends, cook and share meals, and talk about game plans before heading out to take on foes. It’s only available after beating Wilds‘ 10-to-14-hour main story, so those who want to make the most of their multiplayer experiences should tackle some story quests first.
Some of Title Update 1’s content is still a mystery, so fans will have to wait until either the update arrives or Capcom reveals more about it. Looking further, Monster Hunter Wilds has another free DLC coming in Summer 2025 and some paid cosmetic packs arriving throughout the year. This upcoming content should be a welcome addition.
