Jimmy Robertson (Paul Calderon) always had an interesting dynamic with Harry Bosch when they worked together in the Hollywood Homicide Division in the original Bosch series. The fan favorite had been absent in the first two seasons of Bosch: Legacy, but the trailer for the upcoming final season revealed a very special treat for the fans. Jimmy is back and, from the looks of it, he’s been assigned to the Kurt Dockweiler murder case. In the trailer, Detective Robertson and his partner are discussing the possibility that Harry Bosch could be a murderer.

Murder? You honestly think he would set up a prison hit?

The possibility of Harry Bosch ordering the hit on Kurt Dockweiler has been a big topic of discussion among fans ever since the last season left television screens. Harry Bosch has done some nefarious things, like blowing up Carl Rogers‘ pipeline in Bosch: Legacy season 1, but ordering murder is crossing a line he could never come back from. Having said that, a father’s love for his daughter is on a different level, so all bets are off in the final season.

Harry Bosch’s Harrowing New Murder Investigation And The Introduction Of Renee Ballard

It wouldn’t be Bosch: Legacy if the titular private investigator wasn’t looking into some nefarious new crimes, and the exciting season 3 trailer did set up what potentially looks like Harry Bosch’s ‘white whale’ case.

A family of four doesn’t just disappear.

The trailer also saw the long-awaited introduction of cold case investigator, Renee Ballard, who will work alongside Harry Bosch on a case that is bound to be part of the Library of Lost Souls. This footage is set to be part of the controversial standalone final episode of Bosch: Legacy, which wasn’t originally supposed to be the end of Harry Bosch’s solo story before Amazon canceled it. It’ll not only act as a backdoor pilot to the Ballard spin-off, but a passing of the torch in what looks like a long-planned cancelation of Bosch: Legacy.

When you do this work, you go into the darkness. Some of that darkness has gotten into you.
