Killing Floor 3 developer Tripwire Interactive has canceled a planned livestream for its long-awaited zombie game as it works on “building a detailed action plan” to address concerns raised by its recent beta. The stream, originally set to take place today, Thursday February 27, was planned to discuss fixes and improvements made from the divisive test build. However, the studio now says it is doing “more deep dives” into potential changes and that more detailed news will arrive later on.
With the Killing Floor 3 release date set for Tuesday March 25, we’re now less than one month away from its arrival. Yet its recent beta test left many players worried. Criticisms shared via Steam and the Killing Floor 3 Reddit page express concerns about inconsistent frame rates, lackluster animations, bad UI, and netcode-based stutters and freezing. It was a rough appearance for the latest entry in the beloved series of zombie games.

At the beta’s conclusion, Tripwire said it was confident “that some of your issues have already been addressed in newer builds,” but called player feedback “invaluable as we approach our release date.” While it was initially intending to show off some of the upgrades in today’s livestream, it has now decided that it would rather solve more problems before presenting a new build to players.
“We’ve heard you,” it writes. “We are canceling our live stream to do some more deep dives into all the ways we can improve the Killing Floor 3 experience and are building a detailed action plan to address that. We’ll have more detailed news to share in the near future.”
We’ll be waiting a little longer to see what lies ahead, then. Hopefully Tripwire is able to resolve player concerns in the coming weeks, because I have a lot of affinity for the first two games. The animations and sound design made them among the most satisfying FPS games on PC, and it would be a shame if Killing Floor 3 failed to match up to that standard. I’ll always wait a little longer if we get a better game as a result.
